I ended up removing my front Alien shade it was just too low and distracting for me, while it may not bother others it was problematic for me (as shown in the picture on the previous page). The Bestop looks like a great option however it likely would not make it to market this summer season so it is likely pie in the sky for now. Bestop does not do anything expediciously

I just purchased the SpiderWeb shade on my JLUR and it looks great and was very easy to install. I do agree with the OP that it would be nice to be able to pull back the front/pass seat portion when you wanted too but still give the shade for kids, dogs, etc in the back seats. Other than having to unscrew the 4 bolts for the window it probably wouldn't take that long with the spiderweb shade since the spider "nubbins" are already installed. Also you do not have to remove the wipers every time just carefully lean the windshield back enough to put the clips in.

I would also like a shade like the spiderwebshade or alien that does not require removing the windshield bolts to remove/install. I have had a softop wrangler for many years and only now am considering a sunshade. We have the top off as much as we can in the summer and I expect to have it off more than the average user.

I don't think one exists.

I prefer the elastic to the straps and buckles.

Edit: It looks like the Alien is different from the spiderwebshade. I don't see why the front t-bar bungees can't be left in there without using the shade. Does anyone do this regularly? Any problems doing this on the Alien?

For those days/nights where you want full open air driving, you can just roll up the sun shade and leave the windshield bungees attached. This is a Spiderwebshade rolled up with Velcro straps ...

Just what I was hoping to find. I just installed an Alien Sunshade for my fair wife but also want the ability to quickly ‘remove’ it when it’s just me. This seems like a perfect solution. Thanks for posting.
