This.

To each his/her own, but I don’t understand why many soft top owners invest hundreds of dollars in “other” overhead covers, when they can just do the same thing (easier and cheaper) in safari mode.

On a related note, I drive in this configuration year-round and always get questions from other soft top owners about my “cool aftermarket top.” I cringe when I have to politely advise that it is a stock configuration and they can do the same thing. Still don’t get how folks drop $50 - $100K on a vehicle and neglect reading the manual. It’s their vehicle though, so whatevers…
Safari mode is good too. This is a good option when you went the rear windows in.

What's up with people talking about a product and then not posting a photo of it?

There's a bajillion mesh tops out there, why don't you post a photo so we know what you're talking about without having to do a Google search. :headbang:
There you go. A nice high quality image.

A sunroof has glass, so your term is wrong to begin with.
The corner windows come with a bag and two latchs and they are out, 30 seconds each.
I've driven it dead of Winter zero degrees, open top heat on, heated seats...f yeah.....
12 months top off, the difference of top is maybe an inch on the sides, and the best experience is top open, corners out, windows up.
Sunroofs are historically metal or opaque. Moonroofs were a 3rd party tinted glass.

And again you’re back to bougie convenience options nothing necessary or better than a soft or hard top or anything either of them can’t do, unlike the SOT that can’t really be fully open top.

I "forget" about the windshield factor on the JL, even though I have installed them on the JL.

Doh!!!

I was noticing this the other day as well. I usually leave it on, since the JLU uses hooks under the windshield. It was a lot easier with the JK as they used the bungee balls everywhere.

For the people stating headroom. How close is your head to the roof? Seems you all have a lot of other issues besides your head hitting the sun shade.

So, I guess a legitimate question for soft top folks who use these things - how does a sun shade maintain an open top feeling? Seems to me it'd be a lot safari mode, just closer to your head - blocks sun and wind the exact same as the OE top deck and so I'm curious why? I get hard top folks using it - want to be topless, but you don't wanna burn, and the hard top doesn't do safari mode.

I had one on my JK. It's kinda halfway between safari mode and fully open. You get a breeze but it does cut down on the intensity of the sun

One vote for Spiderweb Shade. It keeps the sun off. Lets the air in. You can still see some what through it. You can see the garage door track. For me…. Well worth it.

You can see in @Grampy22 post that it's not completely solid like the soft top is. There are holes in it that give a really nice open air feeling. Sure, it's not as much as nothing. I prefer to have the sun shade than nothing at this point. Colorado sun is brutal and wheeling all day with the top completely off burns me. It keeps me a lot cooler too, we're talking a feeling of 90 degrees and sunny is unbearable without it and 90 and sunny is not terrible with it. The lime green sun shade is cooler than the all black soft top. That soft top makes the Jeep freaking HOT!

I was going to send pictures from the inside but pictures and video don't do anything justice.

I also really like how much the wind is cut down with this thing. More-so my wife, he hair doesn't stand straight up like it's being sucked up by a tornado.

Combine the sun shade with the Kikbax and it's a really fun mid life crisis vehicle Jeep experience for those of us who cannot afford a Ferrari.
