I have a hunch that a good deal can be tracked to usage.....or lack thereof. It would be interesting to see a poll on how many with battery issues are daily drivers and how many are second vehicles. exercising the batteries may be part of the puzzle.
I believe it's mostly about usage. Not so much sitting vs driving, but how often and deeply the Aux/ESS battery is discharged during ESS events and how much the alternator is able to replenish it before the vehicle is turned off at the end of the trip.

The Aux/ESS battery is small (12Ah) so it can provide fewer lifetime Ahs relative to higher capacity AGM batteries, given ideal charge cycle profiles. The less ideal the discharge/charge/temperature conditions, the less of its lifetime Ah potential it will achieve.

Don’t put words in my mouth and be triggered. I just posted that article about the 2024 Toyota broke. You filled in the rest. They all break. I’ve owed both as well.
Yes they all break, but the Tacoma has a far better reliability rating than any Jeep out there. So you are triggered if commenting on your post? Get over yourself.

I had my trouble with my factory batteries when it was my daily driver.

Now that I have a beater daily driver I park my Jeep for weeks at a time. Granted, I keep it on a battery tender because of general parasitic draw of modern vehicles and their fancy electronics that never really turn off.

I'm curious if battery issues are more common with those that do not have the tow package. The tow package includes a larger alternator and main battery, but I think in the 2024's, Jeep switched to the larger main battery/alternator regardless of the tow package. Not 100% sure on that one.

It really sucks that you had so much trouble with it that you were willing to trade it in. Surprisingly, I haven't had any battery issues (yet...) on my 2022 with the tow package. I even let my Jeep sit from September to February without starting once. Not ideal, but everything was still hooked up the whole time and it was a little slow to crank, but it did start. Batteries seem fine, but I probably shortened their life quite a bit. Put on about ~1000 miles since then and no issues.

If it matters, I have a Warn Zeon 10S, ARB Twin Compressor, and Midland 275 GMRS radio all wired direct to the battery. Also have 8 KC Cyclone's and two Baja Designs LP6 Pro's wired through the aux switches.

Nope, the larger battery/alternator doesn't really change anything. The failure in these systems is the aux battery, which is identical between the two.

As it's been stated in this thread numerous times stop/start is the #1 culprit when it comes to terrible battery life. The less you use it the longer your batteries will last. It really is that simple

They can try to put it in their T&C but there's a lot of legal precedence making those clauses invalid.
it's generally in the contract the consumer signed. And how many of the consumers have the deep pockets to fight for this ā€œ legal precedenceā€?

lots of money spent on mods,
I was thinking you had a lemon until you said this ⬆
Maybe check the wiring on your mods to see if you are shorting out and draining the batteries. ?ā€ā™‚

In March of 2022 you said, " I have had a good experience with the local dealer’s service department, and no problems with the vehicle."

In April of 2023 you installed seat heaters? Is that when the battery issue started? If so, maybe check the wiring on those?

I love everything about my '21 JLU Willys Edition, except the Auxiliary Battery and the pesky Battery Charge Warning Light. The first time the Warning Light appeared, maybe a year or so into ownership, the dealer replaced both the Main Battery and Auxiliary Battery. Everything was fine until the warning light appeared again, maybe a year or so later. The dealer installed a new Auxiliary Battery, which did not charge. That didn't solve the problem so back to the dealer, this time to replace the Main Battery. Four new batteries to the dump, and counting. About a year ago, the Jeep wouldn't start. You guessed it: Battery Warning Light back on. Called AAA, who helped me jump start the Main Battery. Then back to the dealer, who replaced both the Main and Auxiliary Batteries. Now six relatively new batteries had been removed and sent to the dump. The local Jeep dealer suggested coming in to test the batteries before the first 36 months went by, as the "Extended Warranty" does not cover the one problem I keep having with the Auxiliary Battery. Two weeks ago, after driving the day before, the Jeep wouldn't start. This time, the same AAA driver came by, jump started the battery, but the Battery Charge Warning Light stayed on. With six relatively new batteries in the local dump, a Jeep that wouldn't start, the prospect of buying two more batteries despite an "Extended Warranty", less than 29k miles in under 39 months, lots of money spent on mods, clean Carfax and nothing else wrong other than not starting, a Warranty that doesn't cover the things that break, six relatively new batteries in the dump, and getting to know the local AAA Roadside Assistance guy who remembered the last visit, that was it. I traded in my Jeep. I loved my Jeep but need something that starts when I press the ignition. No need for @JeepCares, but as so many know, the Auxiliary Battery is a defective design, and I will gladly work with a Class Action attorney or @NHTSA.

So rather than replacing the batteries with better quality for a few hundred dollars you traded in a vehicle you otherwise "loved everything about"? You spent more than that on doc fees trading it in not to mention the massive loss on a trade ins value, taxes, etc. The aux delete and a better quality main battery like an odyssey or optima would have solved your problems and its been covered and beat to death a million times on this forum. We all know the oem quality of the batteries is piss poor at best. Changing out the crap batteries with more crap batteries over and over is the definition of instantly even if it was free every time under warranty. If my batteries fail under warranty I'll tell the dealer I'll buy the better quality batteries and they can cover the labor under warranty. Win/win.
