steering wheel not center while driving straight

Road crown is there to help the water drain off to the sides, that is why it is raised in the middle, unless it's a sharp turn. It affects vehicles with wider tires more than others.

Tracking. Same problem here. Just picked it up yesterday in Florida, drove it back to Louisiana and fought it the whole way. I was thinking aftermarket steering stabilizers and upgraded sway bar to help with the pull and jarring? I’m gonna take mine to a local alignment shop and have them check it and see if they can straighten the steering wheel

Yo the answer is here to straighten the steering wheel. Just use the directions given in this thread to adjust the drag link. It’s mad easy yo.

Following... after reading this I noticed on my way home yesterday morning that I have to have the wheel turned to the left maybe 5 degrees to keep it going straight, it does not pull just have to turn it to the left and hold to go straight, did not notice this until they tightened my ball joints for the clicking noise

Here is a vid I found on how to correct, mine is not off much but if I center the wheel is slowly drifts to the right so I have to hold it to the left slightly.

I have not looked under my JLU to see if it’s made the same but looks like a easy fix

It's definitely different than that, but super easy to adjust. Took me 5 minutes by myself because I had to keep getting up and checking the steering wheel. You just loosen a 15mm nut and turn the threaded part toward the rear of the Jeep if the steering wheel is to the right and toward the front of the Jeep if the steering wheel is to the left. Once you get it where you want it tighten the nut back up to 34 torque lbs and you're good to go.

Mine surly does not pull to one side or the other and when I pull it in the garage and back out and back in so the wheels are straight the steering wheel is pretty centered so I can’t help but wonder if I just don’t have play in the wheel that I’m not used to, if I’m on the highway and in the far left lane I have to keep adjusting to the right and it’s just the opposite for being in the right lane so maybe before making any adjustments I need to make sure I have an issue.

I have the exact same issue. Always tugging on the wheel to the left to keep it straight down the road. When it goes in for the recall I going to have the alignment checked and request a print out of the specs that the vehicle is set at. I aligned cars for forty years and the statement it is in spec can be correct but from left to right they can be at opposite ends of the spec and cause this type of issue. Example Castor spec from manufacture can be 2-4 degrees castor. If the right is at 2 degrees castor and the left is at 4 degrees this can cause an issue. What you want is less than .5 difference between left and right when you dealing with a problem.

so Castor doesn't have to be the same on both control arms he can be different on left and right correct?

Do you have a part number for the new track bar and the new steering box that are replacing the ones that came with the 2018 JL ?Iwas told they have an updated damper which I've got in an updated track bar and it updated steering box do you have the part number on the track bar and the steering box because as usual dealer say there's no such thing. Do you have the part numbers to help me please ?

It's road crown pull.

that's the problem I have with the 37 1350 it didn't do it with a 1250 so is it bad to buy parts to fix it and then you'll wear the tires out uneven because you're changing the alignment meant for the tire pull its own ones that by doing that you may stop it but it's going to make the tires not wear right and it won't be aligned right so how do you fix it

Jumping forward to 2020, on a 2020 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, I’m having the exact same issue. My steering wheel is slightly off-centered to the left. If I put it straight the car pulls ever so slightly to the right. It’s a bit unnerving...

need to fix this.
