Squirrels don’t give up easy, this squirrel did this for over an hour trying to get to the bird seed. My niece took this video out her kitchen window.

Most of the wire in vehicles is made with soy based coating/insulation whereby they used to be manufactured with petroleum based products. Rodents love to nest and eat all of that free food found under the hood. They came after one of my Jeeps.
My son is a dealership tech. They recently had a car brought in from NYC that was throwing codes related to the fuel sending unit and pump. After dropping the gas tank, they found the harness was chewed above the tank. The vehicle was repaired and sent out. Several months later, it came back for the same codes. Turns out, the rats were back and ate through the harness again, at the same location!

I'm not so sure that comp insurance would cover that type of repair. I fixed my own, as I have high deductible insurance due to the number of vehicles and equipment I own. My HEMI is in storage for the winter, but I did put those rodent repel sacks, poison and traps around in my building. It seems that the dealerships and the car companies can make good money on these repairs, so why fix it eh?
