Splitting USB in center console for CarPlay?

Hello Jeep Friends!

I was wondering if using a USB splitter on the USB2 in the center console would still allow CarPlay to work?

I would like to have two USB ports to use in there. One to connect my phone CarPlay and another to charge a flashlight. Will CarPlay still work when connecting through a USB splitter? Anyone doing this?

I've read that for some, car play only works running through an adapter anyway... so it should (I guess).

My CarPlay used to be just fine running through center console. Eventually it stopped for some unknown reason. This seems to be common from what I’ve seen on the forums.

Google USB splitter vs USB Hub to understand the differences as I think you are looking for a USB Hub.. not a USB splitter..

I would also suggest leaving the USB port alone... use it for Carplay.. and use a Cigarette port to USB adapter for your charging needs...
