Spacer Lift Question

I have a two door Rubicon with a M/T on order. I've decided to start I'm likely going with the AEV 2" spacer lift. I was planning on getting the longer MOPAR control arms.

I guess my biggest question is do I need a new track bar and rear relocation bracket? Should I just put the spacer lift and longer arms on and see?

From my research (as I hope to add this kit) and many videos the kit is good and has everything you need. That is why I like it and the cost is great compared to a full on lift kit. I don't plan to turn my jeep into a rock crawling machine but want to add 35's and have a little lift. That said there are others with way more experience that may feel something is missing.

I just bought the AEV kit and was told by AEV that the kit has everything you need for a 2” lift. I’m planning to give it a shot and if I have any issues, I’ll switch out longer control arms or get the geometry relo kit. The kit is definitely a great value.. it’s the new wheels and 35’s that I want that are going to be $$$.

I wouldn't overcomplicate it on a 2" lift. Yes, the additional lift will offset your track a tiny amount. But most aftermarket trackbars are gonna be optimized for higher lift than 2"

Save your coin and be happy. As long as both the springs, shocks, and bumpstops get spaced (to prevent the shocks from bottoming out) out, you're good to call it a day.

I had a custom spacer lift on my 2dr for a while. I used the MOPAR lift longer front control arms with all other factory control arms and track bars.

It worked great. Zero issues. Except…. If not paying attention I found myself running 80 mph on the freeway because it tracked so nicely.

For $70 for the set I would add the LCAs.

I'm going with Teraflex 2"/1.5" spacers and only plan on replacing the LCAs with Teraflex Sport arms. If I feel like I need adjustable trackbars after the install I'll probably go with Rusty's since they're relatively inexpensive.

So now I'm just reading, which is my fault, that the AEV kit doesn't remove any rake. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I have a little higher lift approx. 2.5". No way could I live with the body being offset and it handled funny. I installed a rear TB relocation bracket, an adjustable front TB and adj. LCA's. That wasn't the end however. I quickly added a HD tie-rod, drag link and steering box brace. Being a DIY'r saves a lot.

At least per TF, the 2 door is raked front high by about 1/2”. Their spacer kit is a full inch shorter in the front than the equivalent 4 door kit.

If you add equal spacer height to the front and rear, then you will maintain the same rake that you currently have. Adding weight front or rear (like winch/cargo) can change that also. Just something to consider.

Rake is good. You don't want to be pointing your headlights in other drivers eyes when you throw a bag of groceries in the back.

Rake also helps with aerodynamics of our box on wheels, which is why it's designed that way in the first place.
