IF you do interstate traveling you will truly regret bailing on Verizon and going with T-Mobile or another carrier. You cannot beat Verizon in regard to coverage across/in most parts of the USA.
I have traveled to many of the mainland states and Hawaii since becoming a "Travel Nurse" in 1989. I'm mostly in the Midwest for a couple of years, but want to head to the NW after that for a few years a little at a time.

I've had good coverage with Verizon except for Golden Colorado. Had to use a pager when I was on call because I could not count on a phone call working. I would be able to be on the internet all day but people would email me asking why I wasn't answering my phone.

Yes, what is happening is frequent "disconnects" with the CarPlay iPhone/In-Dash Receiver.
Got out today to test your setup. Not one issue, it works perfectly. Thank you so much for testing and sharing!

I’ve not had a radio/head unit this fancy before. It was pretty fun getting to use it without issues.

@kdiff Glad to hear man. I know, you just shake your head about the whole issue, but the first time I went on an extended drive with the no interruptions it was like a whole new audio system.

Another vote for this fix. Using a USB-A to C adapter and an Apple OEM USB C to Lightning cable. So far seems to be doing the trick!

I tried with the Agoz USB-C cable and it worked well with my iPhone 13. When I tried to use the Ankers USB-C cable because I needed a longer cable, it would cut out after a few minutes. I am not sure if the length of the cable or the difference in the manufacturer or both is the cause of why it will not work.

On a positive note, the Agoz with the USB-C adapter seems to fix the issue.

Weird. My solution has a 100% success record so far. Wonder if its just the newer end of the JL series.

I had issues setting up.
My phone is a work phone, and it's managed.
As well, for safety reasons it must be paired with my bluetooth hearing aids. I work in construction, and sometimes at height. Phonak Audeo Paradise P90's are my hearing aids.
I contacted the vendor who said that it would not work with my hearing aids paired to the phone. That was a game changer for me. They approved returning the dongle, and paid me in full.

I really want wireless CarPlay. I can't count how many times I"ve left my phone in the Jeep. I need my phone to approve connection to my computer at work. So I get to walk back to the Jeep and retrieve my phone.

I haven't purchased another dongle. I would like to.

Hey Dave - there is another user on these forums, I think it's OldJeeper and he has the same issues with the BT. TMK you cannot pair both at the same time and it will take the wired over wireless solution.

That's too bad. It's 2023 guys. We should have simple solutions for these things.

Thanks. Truly appreciate it! I *think* all CarPlay should be wireless. the '24 Wrangler will have wireless Apple CarPlay.

Give you an idea how important it is...my last hearing aids I couldn't hear diesel powered loaders coming towards me from behind on construction sites. I didn't even know they were there. They were Phonak hearing aids too set up by an audiologist! I fired the audiologist and found another. He got me new hearing aids and they work so much better. The bluetooth hearing aids work! They've literally saved my life.

I'll check in with OldJeeper!

Thanks so much!

The issue is the Anker cable because that is the only thing that changed in my setup. It did work with the Agoz cable but i needed a longer cable.

I just got my wrangler last week. I just came across this thread and wasn't aware of any issues with connecting through the center console. I picked up this wireless CarPlay adapter on Amazon and it has worked flawless connected in the center console with the short cable that came with the unit. Phone connects up almost immediately. The only potential negative is that I'm not sure it is powering down when the jeep is turned off. I need to do some more checking on that.

@Paul G

Thanks very much for posting! I tried another make of dongle that didn't work because my Phonak Paradise P90 hearing aids must be paired to my cell phone.

I'll take a look at that dongle!

Good luck. I can't help on validating the hearing aid piece, but this one has continued to work flawlessly for me so far. I'm not sure if this would help, but I could check to see if I can get my AirPods to connect to the phone while it's connected to the wireless connector.

Not sure if this helps or is in any way relevant, but I confirmed I was able to be connected to CarPlay wirelessly while also having my AirPods connected to my phone via bluetooth. I had Apple Maps displayed via CarPlay, satellite radio playing and then listening to different music on my phone via the AirPods.
