I posted an update on this test in a prior post. Likely our postings crossed, but to recap:

"Not sure if this helps or is in any way relevant, but I confirmed I was able to be connected to CarPlay wirelessly while also having my AirPods connected to my phone via bluetooth. I had Apple Maps displayed via CarPlay, satellite radio playing and then listening to different music on my phone via the AirPods."

Hopefully this is beneficial. If there is anything else you would like me to try let me know.

After 2 days driving a whole bunch, it has glitched out once. Just required unplugging and re-plugging. High enough success rate even if this continues...

I mean, if you dont mind, the easiest and simplest solution that I’ve been using since I bought my Jeep almost two years ago is:

1. Buy StarTech.com 1 ft Mini USB 2.0 Cable - USB A to Mini B F/M - USB Cable - USB (F) to Mini-USB Type B (M) - USB 2.0-1 ft - Black - USBMUSBFM1 from amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B004ZMYEMY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
2. Remove the buttons panel, the one where you have AC/volume controls. Below it you’ll find the a usb cable that connects to it and runs back to the center console.
3. Remove the cable above, connect the adapter you bought from Amazon and connect any USB cable to it.

Done, works forever.

The problem is the cable jeep used to connect the centre console port back to the panel is garbage, thats why it’s so unreliable and sometimes it works better with different cables.

Doing what I said above you completely eliminate this variable.

Also the other USB port on the dash will still work fine

Sorry if I missed it or if I'm not understanding, but is the above fix intended to remedy the issue with the center console USB and CarPlay or would you need to plug your phone into the newly-added cable? I'm not understanding and I don't want to take my climate buttons out until I fully understand, but at this point, I'll try pretty much anything. I have read that a possible reason for the CarPlay issues is the cable that runs between the dash ports and the console port is janky and there's a large voltage drop that causes the unreliable performance, so a shorter or better cable between the dash and the center console might help, and your solution above may do just that - I just wanted to verify. Thanks in advance.

You were correct with the cable being the primary issue for CP. but, if you read my first few posts, my suggestion has worked flawlessly for myself and others. Why? I have no idea. But to be up front - I tried everything and this just works. 6 months on and never had one issue.

Unfortunately I have to report that I started getting failures and went back to main dash panel. I had most issues while running Google Maps (it would freeze and require unplugging/replugging/power cycle). Even tried the OEM iPhone cable with the adapter and no luck.

Was hoping this would work for me but I guess I'll have to go with the other solutions posted (mostly likely a dash mount solution).

Weird. I use Google Maps, PLEX, WAZE, OnX, and Teams all the time. I am constantly switching between apps and even go the the Jeep Off Road pages sometimes via the Uconnect app on CP. NEver once had an issue or lock up. I would suggest restarting your iphone, close all apps, and try that first.

Lockups aren't always the fault of accessories - a fair amount of times the iPhones will lock up from heat issues, random bugs, etc. Just my 2 Cents.

I hate to be the proverbial turd in the punchbowl here, but I tried the Agoz cable that was suggested and on its 3.8 mile maiden voyage today to drop my kid off at school, CarPlay cut out about 2.5 miles in. iPhone 12 Pro running the latest iOS (16.4.1).

I find it ridiculous and disingenuous of Jeep to talk to me like I'm crazy and that they've never heard of this happening. Clearly I'm not the only one. They should have a solution by now, but it's clear that they have no interest in remedying this situation which I would argue is a safety issue.

I tried to order the Agoz cord. Amaxon dot ca cost is ok--about $11 Cdn. Shipping was $30.00 CDN And then there would be duty charges. I wrote the manufacturer; they have no Canadian vendors.

I went to the Agoz store; same shipping costs.

I was ready to buy....

In Calgary here; I bit the bullet and splashed out the money for the cable. Solved my problem, now a daily user of CarPlay with my nice and tidy centre console again.

Hi, I bought these exact items off the links provided (thank you). It worked great for an hour and I was so happy. But then it started and now has behaved just like before where it cuts every 2 minutes or so. This is the weirdest thing!
