First time Jeep buyer, truely enjoyed the topless and doorless life for just over a year, but have no confidence in Stellantis and decided to divorce myself from them.

Once I learned of Corrosiongate I knew I wasn't going to keep the Jeep beyond the new warranty period. What accelerated my decision was the tanking trade-in values. They are shockingly low (45% on a 2023), so I cut my losses after I found one buyer who wanted exactly my build and paid a little more.

I can see myself buying a cheap 2-door manual beater in the future, though it may not be a JL if they are corroded to dust by then. This was my first and likely last new Stellantis purchase.

Wishing you all many trouble-free miles ahead. ?

Never understood these kinds of posts.
I do...and I can't see how anyone here can't. Stellantis is a garbage company that bought a great name and really cool products and are now treating them as a money fountain. They don't care at all. Once they have driven the brand into the ground and the money stops flowing they'll sell it off and move on.

And there are "suckers" here...those who believe the hype and really think they've got a top notch product at a great value. There are many of us who knew exactly what we were getting into with a JL...but even more who are clueless.

"corroded to dust" is a bit of an overstatement. My 2021 doesn't have any evidence of corrosion yet. It's funny the OP doesn't have a huge laundry list of unresolved issues, just throws a bunch of hate on Stellantis and gives a peace out.

This is not an airport.
You do not need to announce your departure.

My wife calls the Jeep a lemon. She laughs at me fixing stuff on it. She's looking for a new vehicle that I told her I'd buy for her. She just said: "it won't be a Jeep" (she included Grand Chickorees, etc).

I really am enjoying my 2018 JLUR now that I started rock crawling this past year or so. When the frustration (of the quality issues) gets more than the enjoyment, I'll move on. But right now, I'm having a good time with it. Blistering paint and all.

Ok? Do you need trophy for leaving? Is that what people that post these are looking for? These kinds of posts are just attention seeking behavior and really arent necessary. Its almost as bad as having a 12 page thread about leaving and hating Jeep only to just come crawling back 4 months later.

YUP!!!

My used ‘19 has no signs of any corrosion/paint bubble issue. I also have never seen a dealership since buying my JLUR from a Suburu dealership. I do my own work on the jeep now and will till I feel I might be completely over my head and THEN and ONLY THEN will the jeep see an investigated and documented reliable dealership/mechanic.

AND I have had 0 mechanical issues after 55k miles I have put on it since buying it 1 1/2 yrs ago.

I will be owning this JLUR till it won’t run anymore ;)

I think OP is confused. Starts off bashing Stellantis without any reference to any bad personal experience. Not that Stellantis doesn’t deserve the bashing but I don’t think there customer service took a nosedive in 2023 since OP bought his JL. They’ve been trending downward when it comes to quality and service for a while now. It really sounds like OP has decided he couldn’t afford to keep his JL anymore and decided to leave with some pride. I think all used car trade-ins have declined but I think it’s a bit of an exaggeration to say he lost 45% in less than a year. Curious what he traded “UP” to. He didn’t mention that for some reason.
