The inside of a marriott looks better to us. To each their own but my days of camping are at a bare minimum and will only do with when we have too like the rubicon trail

I slept one night in the back during a road trip when a hotel wasn't an option. At 6'1 I had to sleep at an angle and it wasn't comfortable at all. My feet were up against the tail gate and the seat doesn't fold exactly flat. I had a four inch thick thermarest pad. A decent tent is a much better option.

In 40 years of trucks, Jeeps a Pathfinder and a rock crawler Toyota I have always slept outside under the stars. Lots of talk of sleeping in Jeep's.
What view seems better?
Oh, bought too many Jeep parts and ticked off the wife? I imagine sleeping in a Jeep is worse than sleeping on the couch. Lol

Likewise, my camping days, now, are few if any. I prefer the comfort of a nice hotel room when available.

What kind of custom hardtop headliner is that? Very nice, almost looks like real stars. :like:

I used to sleep in my 72 Wagoneer all the time. I slept in the JK once. It was horrible.
Ideally I would get something like the Front Runner Feather-Lite Roof Top Tent which is only about 100lbs.

We jeep camp a lot, its better than sleeping on the ground or setting up a roof tent. There is a company, can't recall the name but they make a mattress that is made for the jku and jlu. We enjoy the state parks thru out the Rockies, it seems like a good way to get back to nature and is very affordable.

I sleep in the back of mine because where I go there isn't a hotel for hours. Pro-tip: build a platform with 2x4's on their edge and put plywood on the 2x4's to make a flat platform. Although the seats lay down flat-ish, it leaves a very uncomfortable hole at the split.
