P.S. I bought a set of these on Amazon. Way less expensive and look exactly the same. The only difference is this version says it doesn't have the "chase effect" when unlocking the doors etc. So I'm hoping since it doesn't have the chase effect built in in the first place, maybe it'll never be a problem.

They should be arriving today. I'll test them out for a while, see how they do and ill post back here again.

Here's the link. Make sure you buy the ones without the chase effect because when you check out they have like four different options and one of the options is chase effect, or "welcome lights" or something like that.

VLAND LED Tail lights Compatible with Jeep Wrangler JL JLU 2018 2019 2020 Sport, Sahara, Rubicon, Moab ( Not Fit JK) with Tunnel Light, Red Turn Signal Red Clear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XQL15SP/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_fabc_G0VM74Q9Z9CD2JP4484R
Are you still using the non animation version? I have the same brand bought way before any option for non animated were available.

Mine started animating non stop 4 months after purchase. Luckily still have the OEM lights.

Judging by everyones feedback its the same time frame these lights started to not work something failed within. I could care less about the animation but would love these lights to work properly again as they're unique looking.

Has anyone tested these on a LED compatible JL?

Yeah I'm still using the non-animated version. When I first put them on one of them didn't work, but Amazon replaced them for me no charge. 2nd set working perfect so far. No issues, no chase effect. Had them on since I posted the info on them, so I guess I've had them on for a little over a month. Not exactly a long term test but the other ones failed so quickly I consider this a win HaHa

So far eliminating the trailer wiring harness from the equation seems to have worked. I'll keep an eye on things over the next couple of days to see if the problem is gone for good.

I might tap into the front turn signal/running lights on the fenders and the third brake light to make my own trailer wiring harness. It'll be more of a pain but at least this way I should be able to avoid any interference with the tail lights and still legally pull a trailer with functioning lights.

Edited to say I've been driving around for a few days now with the trailer wiring harness completely disconnected from the LED tails and have had no issues. Tail lights work perfect.
Im having the same issue. The LED tail lights work fine when I plug them in directly to the car but when the trailer harness is connected they don’t work. They worked for 2 weeks with the trailer harness plugged in. Now I put the factory tail lights on with the trailer harness connected and now it doesn’t work at all. Did I completely burn that trailer harness? What was your solution?

I went back and forth trying different things and finally ended up throwing them away. I bought a different generic set off Amazon that doesn't do the weird start up chase effect and they've worked great for about a year. Just make sure you buy ones that don't do the "chase effect"

I just looked on Amazon and it looks like the seller doesn't sell the "non-animated" ones anymore, so I can't provide the link for the taillights unfortunately.

The trailer wiring harness I used on my 2020 JL is the curt wiring system. Here's the link for that...

CURT 56407 Vehicle-Side Custom 4-Pin Trailer Wiring Harness, Fits Select Jeep Wrangler JL, Gladiator , Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FK93VM...abc_55GZ8B5KMFDR6EG0RMP2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Hopefully this helps!

Another thought, did you have an inline fuse for your trailer wiring harness? If so you might want to check the fuse if you havn't already done that.

If you have non LED wrangler enable LED tail lights using a OBD scanner. So far no animation while driving.

I also tried these tail lights from 2 different sellers and one advertised the animation the other did not but after installing the first one the animation started right away while traveling eventually they swapped them out and same issue so had to get a different product. The unadvertised pair worked for about 3 months and then started the animation while traveling so now looking to replace them with something not quite as exciting. We really liked the infinity style and disappointed they will not seem to work on our 2020 JL.

See my last post. Did you try enabling LED with a scanner.? It’s been 3 years and no issues with mine now.

When this first happened I did inquire at the dealer about this update and was told that the BIOS did not require any updates and in fact there was no settings to change. I did get a super chips to see it that would solve the issue and found changing the super chips to LED did nothing for the issue but the modes did look cool. Unfortunately the device was very cumbersome to setup and change so I returned it. Funny thing is that both sets while doing the animation while driving one did it only when the lights were on the other did it all the time and had a different pattern.
