I finished up my install tonight. Sure feels good! ?

No thanks to @Nater34 ? I spent quite a bit of time (and money) installing the 6x9’s in the soundbar. But got the amp, sub, LOC and the Jeep back to normal.

Capacitor/d-block (the LOC just beyond) and the amp is on the other side…

And on a separate note, I had to unbolt my winch in order to remove my grille in order to retrieve an airbox screw ??…

And I damaged one of the bolt holes for the rear seat, so I have one thread repair kit coming in the mail. ????

Right on - so 2 wires into one end of the connector and then it continues up and through to a single wire on the other end (left pos to left pos twisted and left neg to left neg twisted...and so on)?
Affirmative. Just remember to add 1/2” or 1” or so long piece of extra wire on the single wire side for filler to get a good crimp (otherwise the connector will be too large for the single wire).

I've been drawing up ideas in my head for weeks now on that very concept and have done a deep dive into "removing passenger seat Jeep JL" on YouTube and Google and have found absolutely fucking nothing!!! NOTHING!!! To help navigate or help brainstorming for ideas of seeing what the floor board and terrain looks like under the passenger seat but again, nothing!! Yes, some shitty vids of fuck-all jagoffs, with crappy presentation and hosting skills and some crap-tastic lighting and botched instructions and tutorials. But seriously!? And they are sponsored vids too . . . Disappointed and depressing . . . Why is this like trying to capture a unicorn impossible!? Probably cause all the unicorns were already slaughtered in my vehicle (still finding glitter and chocolate syrup on things)!?
Also thinking about installing it to the back of the rear seat (on the larger 60 side

That's because there's no slack or extra wire after you splice the B pillar wire correct?

Haha @JasonInDLH. Looks good though. Did you actually take the surround down and not just cut in place!? Man that must have took long time!!! How do you like them now?

No, you’ll actually have long enough wire to use butt connectors with the factory wire (untwist it a bit after you cut and you’ll get the slack you need). The reason you want a short piece of extra wire on the one side that only has one wire is to fill the butt connector to crimp properly.

If you simply bring two wires into one side and leave one side with one wire then you will either have a butt connector too large for the one side (because you need it large enough for the two wires) or it will be too small for one side (because you need it small enough for the single wire).

By having equal diameter wire on both ends you will have a butt connector that fits both side properly.

I did take it down because a)I didn’t want a mess in the Jeep while cutting, b) I used a jigsaw (for lack of a better tool) and I couldn’t imagine trying to cut upside down, c) my shoulders are very weak to do work above my head. ?

I definitely notice the rear speakers now!

I’m wondering if I should add a port on either end of the sound bar now (much like the factory setup had). What are you thoughts?

I would assume this will work as I bet the back of the rear seat is plastic that you could screw into (assuming the plastic is thick enough). I was considering placing a larger capacitor (dimensionally) in the exact same spot as it wouldn’t fit under the seat, but really didn’t want to take up any storage space when I bring the seats down (granted they don’t fully fold flat anymore since I have everything under the seat). ??‍♂

If you do place it there I would recommend installing wire loom around the wires so nothing in the storage area bumps against it and cuts into it and shorts it out.

everything I read was that was just to help with those lil shit speakers more low range. I don’t think it’s needs. Did you put poly behind them? That seems to be what everyone says you have to do.

Gotcha! Aside from all these speaker upgrades, I just got my Desert Does It seat slammers - I'm 6' 3" (6'4" on a good day) and don't exactly fit in the Jeep and my head bumps the roll bar . . . So, I'll be taking care of that too and I also just got the Oracle sidetrack lights but I got the 80 dollar less, knock off brand (think they are just Oracle's that fell off the back of a truck)? Keep you posted . . . Still brainstorming powered sub placement . . . Again, wish I had a drive way or a shop!!!!

@Ghostwolf if u got a 4dr JL I think our only option is under the rear seats and passenger makes sense to go straight up to AUX. The front seats have big vents so hideaway won’t sit great. I read a lot of people doing passenger front but ones I have found out were 2dr.

Believe you're correct and afraid so . . . Lots and lots of research but no solid process or installation on 4 doors . . . Seen one in the cargo tub under the floor (hard pass) - hence, making a "rear" passenger seat baby Bjorn for the hideaway? . . . Also thinking about fabricating some roll bar attachment, IDK, keep y'all posted . . . But thanks in advance for ideas

So . . . Finally started the install after making a passenger seat baby bjorn for the Kicker 46HS10 . . . Very pleased at how it turned out and maybe I should go on Shark Tank (only issue is, I have to move the passenger seat up a little to lower the rear seat and I'm making a "protection" box for when hauling) . . . The install, not fun and hated every minute . . . Have yet to wire anything because I ran into a snag . . . Guessing the passenger side B pillar only houses the RIGHT REAR speaker wires and the driver side house the LEFT REAR speaker wires . . . Was very confused . . . But I believe I can take the two poz (left and right and twist together) and attach to the rear poz and the two neg (left and right) and attach to the rear neg wire and the info will make it to the powered sub!? So confused and this has really dampened my opinion on Jeeps . . . Ugh! Do better Jeep!!!!

Great idea! You have the sub in that thing? I’m very curious as to what you did here and what that thing is.

I was going to get a whole new amp, run new speaker wiring, and install bass shakers (which only shakes the seat) to the seats, but mounting this Kicker sub to the back will also provide the bass too.

My seats are quite a bit different than yours as they have a hard plastic shell on the back (which would be perfect to mount the sub to) with netting (that would be perfect to catch the sub if my previous mounts fail).

I’m curious as to how you’re allowing fresh air to get to the amp though? It appears the whole Kicker sub is enclosed in that thing.

Just curious….What are those things on your head rests?

The four wires you need to tap into are on the passenger side b-pillar. And they are easy to locate as they are the only ones twisted. Gray/Green and Gray/DarkGreen for left. Dark Green/Green and DarkGreen/Gray for right.
