Hey friends, for a while I’ve been looking into installing a side exit or bumper exit exhaust similar to how some folks do it on Offroad Porsche cayenne builds. The reason I’m posting this is because I just recently saw a bumper exit exhaust that someone made custom on the JL Facebook group, so I know it’s possible. From what I understand, they just cut a hole in the right side of the steel bumper and put an akrapovic dual exhaust tip on it. Has anyone here done something like this?

OMG. You brought back memories of my 75 CJ5! That had a side exhaust for the straight 6 and it sounded so good! Many many moons ago…….

By going out the right side, I'm assuming they left a muffler in place and then ran the tip out.

You could go full-delete and hook it out the left since that's where the factory exhaust is routed.

Old man here says all I see is exhaust making it way to the cabin.?
True, aiming the exhaust down is better for that. But if you take the top off, there's no more cabin!
