I found a good deal on some Fox shocks
883-26-054 and 883-26-050

i have a 2024 Rubicon X, it appears the range on the Fox shocks is longer extended and shorter compressed. Does that mean these will work on my Jeep?

Short answer is yes.

Those are the shocks I'm using on a 2024 XR.

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...gs-suspension-information-chart-matrix.66591/

Comparing the stock XR shock lengths with the Fox.

They compress 0.66" and 1.20" shorter in the front and rear respectively than stock. This is fine because the numbers are shorter than stock. You could go and reduce the front jounce tube and remove the 1" spacer on the rear bumpstop and gain that much compression suspension travel and on the factory tires you'll still not rub. But just swapping shocks will be ok.

The extended length is longer by 2.13" and 2.1" front and rear respectively. At full droop you have to make sure the brake lines, diff breather, axle disconnect wiring are not pulled tight (just fine on mine). And also the front driveshaft doesn't bind up (again, just fine on mine but getting close). And the drag link ends don't run out of range (ok). And the rear parking brake cable doesn't get pulled and kinked (on mine getting kindof tight but ok). And diff locker wiring (ok). And the rear driveshaft CVs (lots of range). Mostly you just need to eyeball things when lowering the axle for the new shock length and make sure everything looks ok.

Does the Rubicon X mirror the XR package? I know it comes with 35s but I haven't seen any mention of a factory lift. Granted, I'm not spending a ton of energy looking into it. If the Rubi X is just 35s on stock height suspension I would worry about putting 2-3" lift shocks on.

Sounds like just the answer I was looking for. It awesome when you get an answer from someone who has done this.
As far as full droop, if there is an issue couldn’t I add limiting straps? Is that even a thing with jeeps?

Yes there is a small lift above the regular Rubicon. I think I have read it is 1.5”

As far as I know the Rubicon X and Rubicon with XR package are the same. They have about a 1.5" lift over a regular Rubicon, but it depends on weight. Mine was 1.25".

I doubt there will be a problem. For things like the parking brake cable, you can remove or space the bracket above the rear diff. For wiring you sometimes can just unclip a connector. Mainly they are items to check if you want to do the job 100% thoroughly.

The shocks will work….. just droop the axle with the sway bar disconnected and make sure the end links are long enough…. Make sure they don’t get to straightened out with the extra droop….

Good point ... I forgot about that. For me the rear sway bar was just touching the shock at full droop. I spaced down the sway bar mount by 1" using two aluminum blocks and longer bolts.
