An update on my Service Shifter issue and all warning lights coming...

Received a call from the service advisor a couple of days ago that the valve body is faulty and needed to replace. They replaced it yesterday and have test driven it for about 20 miles and have not had any issues.

I had picked mine up after they replaced the valve body on Saturday morning, but had another issue with no sound coming from the speakers. They said they had QC'd my vehicle for 2 days. Dropped it off Monday morning, they replaced the amp under warranty which was throwing codes. Picked it up today and had the Service Manager arrange a meeting with the regional Chrysler rep to discuss the issues I've had with my vehicle 6 weeks in the shop in 4 months of ownership

Hi, I had exactly the same issue previous week Wednesday.
The Jeep service initially found nothing - just performed some software upgrades and error codes cleanup, but they have left the truck overnight for the steering stabilizer replacement (factory recall). Next day in the morning they took another look and thanks to my suggestions taken from this thread about AC and wirings needing replacement found a wire that is placed just below the radiator (it might be seen just behind the top-right side of the front bumper). The wires has been scraped by the radiator and caused the electrical malfunction in the system. The guy pointed me at the front bumper wires (fog lights and proximity sensors?) but I think he meant the sway bar disconnect ones that are just behind them as he referred to sway bar in the phone call + they look brand new on the photos (and sway bar wiring has also been mentioned in this thread).
I have been driving the Jeep since last Friday in various weather and off-road conditions and had no issues so far!

Great to hear - I haven't had any issues since they replaced the wire!

Mine is saying “Service shifter” and the power steering locked up on me while I was parking in my driveway. I hope there’s a fix for this. It intermittently comes on and disappeared on its own for a week. I just recently upgraded my wheels and tires and I hope the dealer doesn’t come up with some B.S. about my upgrade. It was happening before my new wheels and tires.

My 2019 had the exact same issues, twice towed to the dealer in one week after 12K uneventful miles in 11 months. Same fix.
Looks like they found what is causing a lot of electrical issues. I hope it really is the fix.

Update...After a month the Jeep would not shift out of drive when parking. Batteries would die after 6 hours, dash would flicker and be completely blank. Had to pull the manual release to get it towed. Dealer says they could not recreate the problem and all the codes had cleared because the batteries were completely dead. Dealer would not change out batteries after having jeep for two weeks.

Very disappointing as this JL has become unreliable and has been in the shop for about 20 days with all of the problem. Nothing but electrical problems.

I experienced this issue - nearly died once on a logging road, towed to dealship #1, got some fixes and asuurance that vehicle is fine, went home and nearly died on highway due to the most terrible "death wobble" ever. Went to another dealership told them the whole story, got some fixes and assurances that vehicle is fine. Went to a logging road and nearly died third time due to this power steering issue. I'm not sure how many lives I have left in this game called life...FUCK. :(

Have you seen anyone with a fix for this? This is crazy!! Mine is at the dealer right now since Thursday. I’m hoping to hear something good tomorrow. I was on the highway going 70mph, rainy weather and the service shifter message came up and I lost power steering. Luckily, I was able to pull over.

I am now having this issue as well. Loss of power steering, CEL, and service shifter. 16,000 miles. Checked fuses, dealer replaced aux battery, no luck. I guess I’ll take it back in and hope for a resolution.

I sent this link - https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...ifter-power-steering.32670/page-3#post-923239 to my dealership and after some time got this email:

>>We did follow the star case and did find some wires that rubbed through. It has been repaired. We did drive it a bit and vehicle did not act up. You >>will have to drive it around and monitor.

I've picked vehicle and drove only a few miles so far. We have LOTS of snow in Vancouver, B.C. these days and I don't want to risk my life driving after such serious issue in complex conditions.

Please see above. I'm in Canada. I called a few times FCA Canada, but they have rejected to compensate any expenses I paid to dealerships and towing company ($1500 CAD up to date)

Happy Birthday Mnsparreno! it's a very scary shit when you loose P/S on any road and especially on a highway at high speed!
I don't know if I want to keep my vehicle anymore. My wife said she will never sat in it anymore. :(
