Hello.

Thanks to this forum i have improved ownership and warranty issues regarding my jeep JLUR2018.
I was told by dealership services department the "kit" would be in by December!! do to reasons stated above. I called jeep care and got a case number today. This was also advice by the services department, he gave me a dealer code 60597 (store number) and provide to "JeepCares" along with last 8 of vin and contact info.

What's next?
According to my services adviser: "jeepCares" could expedite the parts or not! hahaha.
My jeep has been in the services lot since the 7th of this month. 1.- Rust issues in the right side of the hood , about the sizes of a dime. 3 days to get approved repairs. 2.- defroster issue. And the famous 3.-steering issue.

I have the same problem and I’ve been waiting a month.I have to take my jeep back in December and have the steering gear put on apparently there’s a back order on the parts and my dealership can only order every 14 days. I will say so far that jeep cares have been helping me quite a bit with this

Update on the situation I got a call last week from FCA saying that my part was being sent to the dealership it would be in on Friday to bring my jeep in the following Monday and they would put it right on for me. I know this sounds crazy but the dealership made a mistake and they put my part on someone else’s jeep so back to waiting.

Mine has been cancelled twice due to Covid taking out my dealership. I originally got my appointment September 4th, YUP almost 3 months ..I am taking it in next Wednesday.....hopefully it gets replaced along with my LED passenger Tail light. The outer ring died and I've been stopped twice! both times they at least let me leave without a ticket after explaining the whole Dealership experience. The brake light still works as well as the blinker except the outer ring.

Up-Date :

According to Amanda, my "JeepCares" advisor who has been very diligent and profesional with communication between my Service Advisor (Mo), Parts Department and Me; has finally inform us that she has requested the Parts Department with (attachment) to expedited the "kit" (parts) to Services Advisor do to Case Number.

I think it works like this:

Assuming that your jeep is in the Services Department awaiting parts.

1.- Case number (complaint)
2.-JeppCares communicates with Services Advisor to verify issue and Parts Problem delay.
3.-JeepCares communicates with Case Number (me) and confirms delay, advices it would reach out to Parts Department so they can expedite the "kit" (parts) per Case Number.
4.-JeepCares communicates with Services Advisor and requests the Part-Numbers (attachment) per bulletin for" it" to be sent to Parts Department by JeepCares. 11/19
*note: I was briefed by services advisor that JeepCares was trying to contact him and was unable to answer JeepCares and vice-versa... . so i requested a Parts Number (attachment) sheet and send via e mail to JeepCares thinking i could help to process or at least have Part Numbers (attachment) to JeepCares and forward Parts Department before 5pm .
5.-JeepCares advisor communicates to Case Number and confirms she has requested to Parts Department with Part Numbers (attachment) to expedite Parts (kit) to Services Department per Case Number.
6.-Awaiting JeepCares to inform progres next Monday.

Will keep posting results.

An FCA dealership getting things utterly wrong? Doesn't sound crazy at all.

I called jeep cares to make sure mine didn't fall through the cracks, and two days later I got a call from the dealer that the box was in. They installed it last week and it made a world of difference!

I started the process in September, Got Jeep Cares involved in December. My steering box was installed last Monday and my dealership installed it properly. My steering is rock solid with no dead spots. One suggestion, have extra fluid on hand.

I checked my fluid before I left the dealership and it was at the full line. The next morning I checked it and the reservoir was empty. I topped it off and drove it for the rest of the day. The next morning it was at the add line so I topped it off again. It has not dropped since and all is well.

Jeep has been driven about 280 miles since the change with no more drop in fluid and steering is very good. No more wander and no dead spots.

I need to address this soon. I just dread the hassle. My JL wanders a bit but not like my old TJ and worlds better than the leaf spring and shackles on the death wobble prone YJ!

I slowed down to 50/55 mph when approaching curves on the freeway it’s effin dangerous!! I was terrified of side swiping a car and driving next to trucks was terrifying because they take up so much space :mad::mad::mad:
@JeepCares really helped me--referred me to FCA Jeep Canada Customer Care

I told contact there that Jeep was dangerous. Then got more serious. He helped me a lot.

Mine is better/not perfect.

I know the feeling you said.

Thank you! Steering feels looser than ever after I’ve been driving around in a Dodge Grand Caravan the last week. :crying:

Amanda from JeepCares did it!

I am so glad i follow advice from this forum and contacted jeepcares, it took about a week, ("thanks giving" weekend affected logistics), to have all issues resolved and be jeeping again.
NO more silver steering box and brand new shiny parts adorn my jeep.
A good relationship with the services adviser helped, and a good reputation of the dealership was recognized by jeepcares adviser. Lucky?

And the verdict: 97% better.. Its a Jeep thing, Haha.
