2018 JLU Rubicon 59000 miles and out of warranty. I had the warning light and ding come on for a while now. There is no clear information on how to fix this issue. I searched the forums and finally decided to try the Z Automotive sensor bypass and it did not work for me. I put it in front and rear with no luck. Ran it for a week in both places. I have read It does work for some but not for me. After months of relentless dinging I finally bought the replacement sensors on ebay and oil and put them in. I still had the same issue plus I had the locker warning light on now. The lockers would not lock and the sway bar would not disconnect. I had read of the wiring harness at the front locker can have a break at the connection point on the upper control arm where it is zip tied. As you can see in the pic I had a break in the wiring. Could have come from flexing the front but not 100% sure. Replaced the sensors to the original ones and fixed the wire. All good now. The wife is happy so I am happy. For clarity the black tape on the yellow wiring near the plug in the full view pic was there when I opened it, my break is not shown in that pic it was higher at the zip tie point.

Search the group for Locker Sensor and you'll find a whole encyclopedia of the issues.
I'm dealing with this right now- we've gone from the locker light flashing while at highway speeds to the actual, confirmable failure message. The dealer couldn't do anything unless they had a code, now they do! Luckily I'm not needing my lockers much right now.
Check Amazon for the best price on the Z automotive bypass cable, I snagged an open box one for about half price.

Crazy question....shouldn't these be covered under the power train warranty for those of us under the 5 year-60,000 mark?

I had my jeep in for service (lifter tap) prior to the warranty running out and I told them about the locker warning light. They acted like they never heard of that issue before. They actually fixed the lifters and kept it for 2 weeks and could not find why the axle locker light was happening. They told me since they could not fix it it under warranty it would be covered for life after the warranty but of course they didn't honor that when it ran out. So I would believe they would cover it in warranty if they can find the issue.

Also I want to tell you that both factory sensors were about half full of differential oil but I put them back in just like that and it has worked fine since.
