Lovely...we will see what my guys find! If they can’t find anything I’ll tell them to check the tire sensors! Lol

So my issue was not a bug, it was a rodent! Apparently a rat, or squirrel, chewed through a wire which caused my serv 4wd light to come on.

Message “Service 4WD” just popped up on my JL Sahara dashboard.

Going to call dealership Monday morning.
Not even 2,000 miles on it yet. Does anyone know what may have caused this alert?
Did you get this resolved? Mine is at the delealership. They thought it was the transfer gear sensor and replaced it but the light came back in last night, along with sway bar.i did mention the tire sensor too.

Just had this happen to me and the cause was a corroded wire connector (G304 Circuit) to the axle under the rubber weather grommet.

This is an old thread, but has anyone else had experience with the “Service 4WD System” warning light?

Mine came on today just driving along in 2WD. Of course I’m out of town and planning to go off-road tomorrow. I’m wondering if it is anything that would actually interfere or if I can just get it checked out when I’m back in town.

Update: The Service 4WD System light usually goes out when I restart and later comes back on. The latest is that the warning light is off but now the 2H indicator is flickering on and off.

I’ll try 4WD today and see if it’s working normally and then take it to the dealer.

Does anyone know if the warning light needs to be on for the dealer to diagnose the problem? Or is there a code they can access even if the warning light is off?

Thanks. All the warning lights are off right now and the 4WD is functioning normally. Most likely a bad sensor or loose connection as noted elsewhere in this thread.

I’ll get it checked out the next time I’m at the dealer unless it occurs again.

Where was the loose connection at?

I never figured out the problem with mine. It went away on its own.

Mine had this wire disconnected. Check yours. Maybe it’s not plugged in all the way.

Mine has come on twice now after about 15 min in 4x4. Anything new on this. I am not sure it’s even working. No pulling when turning tight. But we have a lot of snow n ice so I. may not notice at this time.
