Cooler this morning - just got "Service 4WD" message.
2021 JL 2 dr Rubicon 3.6.

How do I reset this it what could cause it?

I read codes with OBDii and no codes.

Just rolled 50k miles.
Last week at 49k miles I changed the gear oil in both diff's and the transmission fluid in the transfer case.
Been driving it a week without codes since.

Checked my main battery and it is good.
Unplugged my battery for 30 minutes and hooked it back up .. message is still there.
Shifts in and out of 4WD fine.

Any thoughts or pointers? I'm stuck on this one.

Is there a service reset for transfer case oil changes?

I assume you have the full time 4WD transfer case?

I have the transfer case that has the automatic 4WD option.

Selections can be
2WD
Auto 4wd
4WD Hi
4WD Lo

and when I change the transfer case fluid - transmission fluid came out.

I had that problem on my 2021 392 with the full time transfer case. After it would set overnight it would go away. Once the light would come on I would have binding in the drivetrain. A couple of months later the light came on and the front wheels quit pulling. Most of the time it’s the electric solenoid on the side of transfer case. I finally got tire of mine and replaced the transfer case with an Atlas.

How do I check if it is the electric solenoid on the side of transfer case?

Is there a way to read hidden codes, as I just have a cheep OBDii reader?

Curious how much was an Atlas? They are top of the line.

About $5,200 for the kit. I did the install myself with a floor jack and a creeper. Took me about 4 days. You can use your existing driveshafts. You do have to replace your DTCM with one from the same year Jeep with the standard transfer case.

I do know of folks with the 392 .. burning out the clutch plates on the transfer cases at under 36k.

Dumb question is it just R&R the parts? i.e. just swap out the DTCM or do you have to code like the ECm to recognize the drive train control module?

The description of you Jeep is wow!

Mine is just metal clock skid plates, mopar lift, winch and mopar bead locks.. which i regret should have got hutchinson's.

You use a Tazer to do the programming of the DTCM. There are some supplemental Tazer instructions that walk you through the programming.

probably the axle locker sensor. half the time they don't throw codes. are either of your axle lockers flashing when you try to engage them?
