Just remember the married/unmarried state of the Tazer makes a difference with regard to how settings changed via JScan stick.
Ok explain since I’m getting schooled here. If the tazer is married and I set tire size to 36.5 but later use JSCAN to reset it to 36.25, does it revert to the tazer setting?

What BT adapter do y’all use for JScan? I’m thinking about installing one in my wife’s Jeep.
I use the OBDLink MX+.

It's great and I recommend it. However, I got it on sale a long time ago when it's MSRP was considerably lower; I think there are less expensive ones that work very well.

I’m curious about that too. When I unmarry my Tazer, does the tire size revert back to stock? If I don’t unmarry it and just remove it, does it retain the Tazer tire size?

yeah so to catch up on this thread I am using the 12+8 cable with an OBDLink MX+ that I've had for years many cars ago

I was just mostly curious if the security module did anything day to day while driving the jeep, and sounds like not. I'll probably get the extension cable so it'll be easy to plug back in if I need to take it to the dealer, but I grok the bit about leaving the extension cables connected to the security module but disconnected on the other end while the 12+8 cable is connected to the car's network

The SGW is simply a firewall, to thwart any external attempts to hack your vehicle’s critical systems.

right, but it's obviously connecting two sides of something together, or at least connecting to two different parts of the car's communication network, so I wasn't sure if that connection still needed to be in place. By splitting the two cables coming in, was half of the car's network isolated from the other half. That obviously is not the case

Changes made with JScan while the Tazer is unmarried will stick when the Tazer is married, and if changed while married will be reverted to when the Tazer is unmarried.

Changes made with JScan while the Tazer is married will be removed when the Tazer is unmarried and reapplied (assuming they were in place at unmarry) when the Tazer is re-married.

Make sense?

I wondered about that myself. My guess has been that one side is for the ODBII port, and the other side is for OTA head unit updates - but I’m probably wrong.

My problem is I'm an IT guy, trying to think of it in traditional computer network terms, and of course canbus or whatever other bus they're using can and probably does work completely differently, and there's no reason the gateway can't both be bridging the secure to insecure network, but also disconnecting it not isolate any modules

Yes thank you…not sure how I missed all this through the numerous posts by you and @Rhinebeck01 . Thick Skull Syndrome perhaps.
