Hands down, best combo for the money is bypass Cable and OBDJscan app - if you want to change Wrangler options.

If all you want to do is "identify codes and clear them" , all you really need is an inexpensive OBDII Scan Tool that plugs directly into the OBDll port on your JL.

You do not need a Security Gateway Bypass or an App or anything else to identify codes and clear them .... just an inexpensive OBDII Scan Tool.

Here is one that would do the deed for you but there are other's that are even less expensive then this unit..

Great and thank you. I guess I am confused since my mechanic had a couple expensive ones that wouldn’t clear the codes yesterday but then an older cheaper Actron brand one was able to clear them.
I guess it woulld make sense to spend a few more dollars to have more options if needed im the Future.

As I am learning more about this thanks to your comments I think I just need a cheap scan tool. Rhinebeck01 suggested one. Do you have any suggestions for a budget friendly one that works well for the JL that can read and clear? Thank you.
