Hey guys, I filled up my oil with 5qts, then added ceratec on top of that like a not super smart person. Here’s a couple stick pics of the oil level when it’s hot- gets onto the braided line. Would you drain half a qt? Or run it?

Drain it and don't worry about it! No need to stress about it or take a risk.

Not gonna be a popular answer, but if it’s the 300ml size, you’re only over filling by 1/3 of a quart or so. Supposedly there’s around a +1 quart safety margin. Dealers overfill all the time if you believe what people here have said, and how many people never check their oil after leaving the dealer.

5 quarts of oil is 4732 ml. 300 ml is 6.3% over. That's not much. And, per the following, you should be more than safe.

From internet:
"Based on designer specifications and user experiences, the 3.6L Pentastar engine is designed to handle an overfill of 1 quart (or roughly 1 liter) without immediate danger. Crankshaft aeration (crank hitting oil) typically becomes a significant risk when overfilled by more than 1.5–2.5 cm on the dipstick, often requiring 1.5 to 2+ quarts extra to cause damage."

Drain into a clean container and refill. Check the level and add as needed until full.

you're fine dude, just run it. the amount of JL PUGs out there getting 6qrts every oil change is more than you'd think, and they all run just fine.

This is one of those things that is an easy fix. Just make it right. You will probably be fine as many mentioned. In general a motor like th 3.6 will suffer from a down main seal if way overfilled. But that is probably not the an issue here.

Probably about 5-10 minutes after. Right after shut down the oil is at the top of the cast iron, not quite reaching the the hatched
