How difficult was it to “key” it?I got a mopar locking gas cap (vehicle key is used) and an Amazon aluminum door. Works well for preventing the gas bandits.

took me like 20 minutes doing the trial and error method, I forgot to ask my dealership to look up my key code. If you get your key code it would probably take 3 minutes. There’s only 4 pins and 4 possible positions for each pin.How difficult was it to “key” it?
i hear ya, I live in NYC where there are scumbags everywhere… need all the damn locks, even used security mounting on all my BD lights. That and the locking gas cap was free from my dealer@The_Irish_Weaver
Return it and get a refund.
Have you tried to siphon gas out of any car/truck that has been manufactured in the last few years.
Yes possible to siphon but it is let's say not easy at all, do even if you know a work around/ how to siphon gas out of a newer vehicle.
Over the last few years.... since anti siphon valves and fuel line screens, etc., became the norm , guys/gals that steal fuel do it by punching a hole in the fuel tank.. It's the easiest, fastest way for them to do it, plus they are under the vehicle for the deed, they are not in plain sight, so less easily seen.
Unless you want to try... again try....to keep some asshat from putting something into your fuel tank, Don't waste your $ on a locking gas cap or locking fuel filler door.

It's easy. I used this method when I did mine. How difficult was it to “key” it?
Tell me you’re new to Jeep accessories without telling me you’re new to Jeep accessories. ?Just today I asked at Fiat for a lockable Mopar gas cap. They didn't have one in stock ... I guess due to its enormous size .. but asking 140$ for one is just criminal. I'd rather plug that hole with a rag before giving those shirts my money.
You should shop around. Below is the seller from which I purchased mine over a year ago. Back then I paid $62 USD. It’s $82 USD now. Prices for everything are up and will continue to go that route.Three years years ago when I purchased the first Mopar gas cap I thought 30 - 40 $ was kind of excessive price .I honestly find it sad really and nothing to laugh about. I wish I had your money smiling face. You know 100$ in my jeans was a good dollar only few years ago .
I just did this last night for the third time (don't ask....I have a Jeep flipping problem). Follow the video and it literally takes 15-20 minutes. It's easy....don't let Rob's incessant warnings of impending doom in the video scare you. He's just trying to provide enough warnings to provide some blowback protection against the lowest common denominator people out there who won't follow the directions. It's easy. I used this method when I did mine.
