I've got a 21 Sahara JLU. I just had it regeared with 4.11s and e-lockers. I don't care anything about a lift, or running big tires, since this is my primary "driver". I'm running Rock Trix 18s with 32" AT3Ws. I chose the AT3Ws because that's what I have on my Ram, and they're perfect, and have a good tread life.
If I do anything else, I might add a steel bumper and a winch.

To be fair, I've also got a moderately lifted JK 2 door, that I can use if I'm doing something serious.
But it's still got 32s on it. KO2s.

Im not considering leather interior, hood design, and more premium trim levels or a full floating axle. Just a good solid balance of something with you can get with the recon package that strikes a good balance between a Sahara and a Rubicon. Especially for the price difference. I like the factory rims with the 35s and Rubicon fender flares that came with package. Can't get that as a factory build on anything but the Rubicon or Willys. I like the yellow stitching over the red. I liked the center cap Jeep logo in white over the red center cap on the rims. Just my preference..
So youre just gonna gloss over the 4:1 t-case, front locker and sway bar disconnect?

Tim, thank you for your service! I retired from the Army in 2018, after 30 years of service. Hooah!

With all due respect, I have to disagree strongly with your post.

We have a Sahara and a Rubicon. Stock, they handled IDENTICALLY on the road. Also, as far as the Rubicon 4.10 gearing limiting highway speeds, please tell me why you say that. My Rubicon, pre and post build, easily cruised/cruises at 80-90MPH. I’ve had both vehicles up to 100+ a few times. Last fall I drove my Rubi from SW FL to Phoenix, AZ and back. I cruised at 75-85 MPH, easily. Perhaps it has more to do with your manual transmission; both of ours have the 8spd auto.
Thank you for your service too. I'm due to retire next April with 24 years.

Just curious, where your Wranglers manuals or autos? I was never able to get either up to 100 in 5th or 6th. 95 mph was probably the fastest the Sahara got me. Maybe I chickened out at that speed though. But the Rubi struggles to hold anything above 90 if there's any kind of an incline. I wasn't sure if the extra gears in the auto were helping you. My wife's GC with the 8 speed auto and the 3.6 will certainly get to 100 but I drag raced her one day and the Rubi smoked the GC off the line. But given enough real estate I know the GC would've taken me. :CWL:

How the hell did you get a '21 JK? What kind of Franken-beast are you running!? Save it though, 1 of a kind :P

Tim, early congrats on your upcoming retirement!

Yes, as I said at the end of my post, we both have the 8 speed auto; she has the 3.6, I have the 2.0T. I also speculated in my last post the same thing you are thinking, that it has to do with the difference between the manual and the auto. I didn’t realize the manual was THAT crappy!!! We have zero issues that you are having; in fact, I don’t know how fast our Jeeps will go. I imagine there’s a limiter at some point.

Doh! Of course that was a typo. It's a JLU.
My *other* Jeep is a JK.
