If Jeep wanted to make the Moab more off road capable, they would've given it a rear locker, and/or e-disco like they did on some JK special edition, non-Rubicon models. Because they didn't, the Moab isn't any more off road capable than a Sport to Sahara. They are the same.
Not true. The sport does not come with a dana 44 rear LSD and auto 4x4.

The LSD w/ D44 is available on Sport.

Auto 4x4 makes it more capable on-road, not off-road.
Right OPTIONS. It’s AVAILABLE for the sport but does not come with it. The OP liked that the MOAB came with these options like leather, nicer rock rails then the rubicon, LED lights, Steel bumper etc...

Auto 4x4 is very useful off-road. Do you put the transfer case in 4x4 as soon as you get off the payment? Of course not. most of the time your in Hi 4x2 until you need 4x4. With auto 4x4 it will engage it when it needs it allowing you to stay in 4x2 and not windup your driveline. If then the situation is needed engage part time 4 hi or low.

Right, not more capable.

Exactly, not more capable.
MOAB is more capable in stock configuration then a sport stock.

You can get a sport and make it more capable then a rubicon if you pour money into it but again like the OP said he was not going to mod.

Work within the boundaries of the OP statement.

Unless you REALLY want that Moab color scheme from the factory, get the Rubicon. Moab is a very odd package no matter what you name it. Less off-road ready than the Rubicon yet with more off-road ready tires.
I am very happy my Rubicon came with K02s but the tires seem like they are reversed for the Rubicon and Moab. The K02s are very quiet for what they are and I love that for urban highway driving. And as of 3/1/19 Rubicon buyers can have a choice between a K02 A/T and a Falken M/T. The Moab should have been equipped with the quieter BFFG KO2 A/T from the start considering it's based off the more urban Sahara. Or at least give buyers a choice between A/T and M/T like Rubicon owners now get.

Personally I think the stock Moab tires are too noisy but love the all black finish of the Moab wheels. The good news is Moab owners should have no problems finding someone to trade or buy their wheels and tires.

If you want something more capable off road get the Rubicon

If you want a loaded Sahara and or live where it snow/rains alot get the moab.

If your planning on modding the hell out of it, care about MPG or do little to no off roading get the sport.

You brought this up and you were proven wrong. OP wants a MOAB or Rubicon not a sport. Forgot to mention that the MOAB comes with Rubicon shocks and springs too. :)

Proven wrong? All your points show why a Moab isn't any better as there is nothing unique to a Moab to make it more capable off road. I did not bring up the Sport model, you did with

FCA is even giving non-Rubi Gladiators the option to get the Rubicon's front and rear wide D44's with 4.10 gears. That is beneficial. JK special editions had a rear locker or e-disco available to help bridge the gap between Sport/Sahara and Rubicon. For whatever reason they decided to not give the Moab anything.

Dana 44 will be standard across the board on the Gladiator, not optional. 3.73 drive ratio will be standard on the Sport and Overland, whereas the 4.10 is standard on the Rubicon and is part of the Max Towing package on the Sport.

They gave MOAB standard dana 44 LSD rear axle, Rubicon shocks and springs, auto 4x4, steel bumpers, rubi hood, led lights, color match hardtop, mud terrain tires, leather, etc... I would say that something.

No hard feeling pal but I just disagree. Lets not keep going round and round.
