The amber backlight on the Diode Dynamics is just a little brighter, more intense in color than what is on the Baja Designs LP4's. That said, I think the backlight on the two light brands look great together. Here's a couple of pics that may help.

Ok good. I figured it paired together but wanted to be sure. I like the LP4 also but also like the diode options so will likely have both at some point.

I'm curious, have you coated or painted your frame? It looks really clean for having 60k miles and living in Chicago (I assume they have winters similar to the Northeast).
TIA

Hi, yeah we have some salty winters here in Chicagoland.

I've never been a fan of the paint Jeep uses on the frome, axles, etc. so I clean and paint any parts of the frame I can get at. I use Rustoleum semi-gloss black spray. It's worked well.

• A look at Aux. lighting •

I recently had some questions regarding the aux. light set-up I'm running and the output, beam spread, coverage I'm getting from them. Here's what I am currently running:

- Baja Designs LP4 (front bumper)
- Diode Dynamics SSC1 Wide Lens/Yellow (front bumper)
- Diode Dynamics SS3 Pod Combo Lens/yellow (A-Pillar)
- Diode Dynamics SSC1 Pod Wide Lens/clear (A-Pillar)
- Diode Dynamics SS3 Pod Max Clear (roof rack-forward)
- Diode Dynamics SSC2 Flood/Clear (roof rack side)
- 6 Baja Designs Rock Lights (4 per side, 1 front, 1 rear)

• Baja Designs LP4's

• Diode Dynamics SSC1 (bumper corners)

• Diode Dynamics SS3 Pods/Yellow and SSC1 Pods/Clear on A-Pillar

• SS3 Pod Amber Backlight

• Diode Dynamics SSC2 Flood Beam

I think the easiest way to see what the aux. lights are doing is from above. Here's look...

* The drone images are showing the A-Pillar SSC1's in Yellow. I am now running those in clear *

I'm hoping this is useful info for those considering running aux lighting on their builds.

Are these aftermarket parts or OEM painted?

Enjoyed reading this thread. Steven, how many of your modifications on the JL did you purchase vs given to you by manufacturers? I'm curious to know how much you put on out of pocket vs do so because you had an opportunity to review it. Appreciate your pictures and in-depth reviews.

Hi, and nice to hear you enjoyed the thread.

I'll share how a good deal of my build came about...keep in mind what I was doing on my YouTube channels was in the 'early' stages when I started on my JL.

I would contact manufacturers that I had researched and wanted to run on my build to see if there was interest in collaborating. I've always been up front that I would be fair with my reviews/evaluations but they needed to understand Expedition Builds would be an honest voice. We would report back what we found and hopefully that would be beneficial to my viewers.

Out of that, I've been sponsored in some degree from the likes of Falcon Shocks/TeraFlex, Rock Slide Engineering, Diode Dynamics, Midnight Forest, etc.. So, as you can see, it's really helped a lot for my build. I do now get a lot of inquiries about product reviews, many of which I don't do as I know the product is not what I'd like to run personally or the quality is suspect. Hope this helps.

Can you post your cleaning routine and which products you use? Can't believe how clean you keep your ride. IIRC you re-paint all the metal when you're underneath and have an opportunity to do so?
