I was looking for something like this earlier this week before I impatiently pulled the trigger on the water port.

Your timing is pretty near perfect 🤣

EDIT: your timing may still be perfect. After watching the video I went ahead and ordered one up for the Rotopax
LOL...yeah, timing...it's never been my specialty

Let me know what you think of the kit when you have a chance to use yours.

AAL M.A.S.S. Platform Install and Sound Deadening

Going back here to better cover one of the mods I did prior to heading to Moab this year.

Previously I posted a pic of the AAL M.A.S.S. Storage Platform I installed. To install the Platform, you remove all of the carpeted cargo floor area. One of my concerns with regards to removing the carpet/storage cubby door was that I might be adding road and exhaust noise with this mod.

Here's the cargo area tub being prepped for the install. You can see the factory had applied some sound/vibration dampening to the floor already.

I ordered Boom Mat Flex Vibration Dampening Material as well as their Boom Mat Tape. My thinking here was I was going to be looking down through the MASS Platform to the tub of the Jeep and I essentially wanted to 'black out' and quiet the cargo area tub. The Boom Mat which conforms to any shape would work well here.

The tape allowed me to work on the smaller, more difficult to reach areas of the tub and the bigger 12"x12" squares allowed me to quickly cover the larger areas. I pulled back the carpet and ran the Boom Mat up the sides of the wheel wells. Here's a look.

And here is the MASS Platform installed.

I'm happy to report the new MASS Platform runs quiet and I have no additional road or exhaust noise...in fact I think I quieted things down a few decibels over the stock set-up which I'm happy about.

For day to day non-trail use, I run Quadratec"s Cargo Floor Liner. I custom cut the door side edge to accommodate my Molle Bags as the cargo door closes. This provides an easy to clean 'catch all' to keep the area below the platform clean.

My AAL Fridge Slider arrived after our Moab trip. When I get a break from work, I'll update with pics of that install.

Stay tuned. Much more to come.

Great build, I look forward to seeing new posts and vids of the work you have done. Question on the AAL Mass Platform, on their website it appears there is a lip at the back. I don't see it in your pics, did you just install the plates upside down?

Hey larry, thanks for the compliment and appreciate your support on the channel.

Good catch with regards to the lip/no lip at the back. On mine, it turns down. The chamfered holes were only drilled on the one side (allowing the bolt to sit flush) and you see the logos presented correctly. The deck fit perfectly over the mounting braces and cleared everything.

Ongoing design change by AAL, not sure. I'll check it Brit at some point to try and verify.

Didn't even notice the logo. I reached out to AAL and was told they come just like yours, lip facing down. They should update their web pics, I almost moved on from looking further into because it showed the lip up. Guess I need to ad to my shopping list now. Thanks for your help...

Thanks for following up with them and getting the correct info..

When I read your post I really began to wonder if I had installed mine incorrectly because I was moving through the install pretty quickly getting ready for Moab. I went out at lunch to double check it on my build before I responded to your post:)

I know AAL is slammed, hopefully they can catch up soon.

Hey ironbullfrog! It's been flawless and I have no problem recommending it.

It runs silent, the finish looks new and seems very durable after using different tie-off points for the cargo on our various trips.

If you decide on getting one, please use the 10% discount code found on the review video (expeditionbuilds10) I don't make anything on the sale, but I was able get that for my viewers. Good hearing from you✌🏻

Your build thread helped sell me on the Metalcloak Gamechanger 3.5”/Falcon SP2 3.3 combo for my upcoming 392XR. After weeks of research I’m finally content! Good to know the Falcons fit without issue and without the relocation brackets, that was a big holdup for me. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, keep up the awesome build & content!

Hey Miles, good to hear the thread helped with your suspension decision(s). This shared knowledge is what I love about the forum.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with your 392XR...what a beast she'll be!
