I thought I saw somewhere where you could add gas shocks to the hood to replace the little pole that holds up the hood? Anyone have experience with that or where to order? Thanks so much!

Does anyone have a good recommendation on detailing/ceramic products that you may personally use? I pick up my need Jeep in Miami and it was probably on the lot for a few months and really need to be cleaned up. Thanks in advance.

Hey John,

Check out the video(s) I did on the Expedition Builds YouTube channel, you might find it helpful.

I started using Chemical Guys new ceramic coating line last year and really love the results.

I'm going to be doing a full treatment on my new Recon soon. I will also do a video of that process for the channel.

Thanks Steven, I have been watching some of your video’s. Great stuff. I also ordered the new Recon decals - the side flags and the black hood with the outlined red.

Do you have any ideas on how difficult they will be to install. I will also need to remove the old plain black decals. I am wondering what type of vendor might be best to install them, say a body shop or a shop that specializes in vehicle wraps. Just thinking, please feel free to share your ideas. Thanks so much!

Thanks for the compliment John, appreciate it!

The new decals (red) will look great on your Jeep.

I've had some experience with decal application and the bigger they are the more difficult they are to apply. I'd bet the OEM stickers aren't cheap, I'd find a good body shop to get those on the Jeep.

Removal is surprisingly easy, it just takes a little heat. I'd bet you could find shop that does wraps in your neck of the woods. Those guys are expert in working vinyl.

Thanks so much. I will try to find a high end body shop to do it. I wonder what process the factory used to get them on perfectly. Everyone says they can do it I just need to find someone I can trust. Yea about $250 for the three factory decals.

I think the trick is just finding a shop that has done it before. It's gonna look great

Find a shop that's done it before, you'll be good. I still can't see any rhyme/reason the factory put the different graphics on the different color of builds. I don't see a pattern to it.

I think the factory uses a pneumatic mold that applies them airtight, no bubbles. Good luck, looking forward to seeing the new look.

OK first I greatly appreciate all of the help this forum has provided! Thanks so much!

Two questions

Steven - thanks for the referral on the Chemical Guys detail supplies - I picked some up today.

Question 1 - Magnaflow axel back dual exhaust - YEs or no? I love the ascetics of a dual exhaust but do not want it to be loud or disruptive.

Question 2 - What is the name of the site that you get a $250 rebate after you purchased your Jeep?

I searched for $250 in the forum but nothing pulled up - does any one recall the name.

If I can get some feedback on the magnaflow before 5pm I can order today. OK thanks so much!

I think you will really like working with the Chemical Guys Line, Ive had really good success with it. Be sure and do a thorough clay bar, especially on the horizontal services.

1) I have no experience with the MagnaFlow exhaust. I have heard those running it really enjoy it. When it comes to exhaust selection for your Jeep, it really depends on how you use your Jeep.

Case in point, on my JK, my first exhaust was a MBRP Cat-Back system that featured two beautiful 4" polished tips that I had tucked right up against the bumper. I loved the way it looked and sounded.

On my first trip to Moab we were running Fins & Things. The last obstacle has you coming off a 6" tall rounded bit of Slickrock. As we came off I completely flattened one of the tips. My next exhaust was the AFE Hi-Tuck Axle Back...no more crushed exhaust. Choose wisely Amigo!

2) I don't know about the $250 rebate...pass that along someone please.

Thanks so much Steven. Shoot so I get into the Jeep today. 8.4 works, car play works, fuse (radio) is seated but no sound. Nothing from the speakers. I wonder if the amp has a separate fuse? UGH 388 miles in.
