So do we think that the parts on this are the same but instead it’s just assembled abroad?

Finally getting around to starting the install late this evening. Went with @813 Fabrication & Design ’s underseat setup.

Fuse setup is different, we’ll see if the harness length can reach.

I’m cleaning up my other wiring with 813 accessory panel, so probably won’t wrap up till tomorrow.

Pulled the inner to run it, and it’s just long enough to make passenger seat to battery. I chopped the fuses because I’m not running straight to the battery, but they only add about 8” with the included wire.

Outside of the wiring differences, was the mounting the same? I plan to use the Grimm mount on the firewall, eventually installing the EV port mod.

Location of the eight captive nuts on the baseplate are the same as the ARB.

I'm not sure about the ARB, but the included M6 bolts in the RC are too long for mounting to a thin surface. IIRC they're either 25 or 30 mm long and bottom out on the heat sinks. Make sure you have some shorter M6s handy, I think I used 14 or 20 mm.

Got mine installed today. Few minor differences. I used the Epic Kraken underseat mount. Not my first choice, but it seems like the only interior mount that fits the new '24's interior. Like GatorB8 said, the included M6 bolts were too long, 30mm. I got some 16mm ones at Home Depot.

The Kraken plate did not exactly fit the RC compressor. Holes were precision drilled, no slack available. One dimension was about 1mm off, the other amount 3mm. A step bit and die grinder made quick work of that.

One thing did not fit was the switch. That I was surprised about. I thought all those switches were the same dimension, I got them with my ARB lockers back in the day. The Kraken cover fits fine, but the switch didn't fit in the hole. Again a few minutes with a file took care of that. Compressor installed.

Fit it under the seat. Tight fit. There is a bar in the center of the seat frame that bumps into it when the seat is fully back.

Seat installed. Not liking the blue light, that is going. Luckily they installed a 5 amp fuse on the power line to turn it off.

The power line just fits, with about 6 inches to spare on my 392. With my old 3.6 it probably wouldn't have made it to the battery and would have to be extended. It was much simpler to deal with than the ARB harness I installed in my '18, only a power harness and a switch. Didn't have to deal with the wiring for the solenoids.

Some more tidbits.

The switch cover does not fit. I thought it was just a tight fit, but it fell off. I replaced it with the RC one, and it snapped right on.

The blue light can not be turned off by pulling the fuse. Or either power lead. Looks like the only way to remove it is to do something with the bulb.

Removing the 2 amp fuse is easier by pulling the small harness out and then removing the fuse. I destroyed the red wire by pulling too hard, then I had to repair the damage.

Takes 7.5 minutes to air up the stock 35" BFG ATKOs. I aired them down to 12 psi (they had a good bulge) and up to 32 psi. Not the fastest, but respectable. I also spliced in an air gauge to watch the tires air up and down in real time.

Finally put her to use. Noise was less than I expected underseat. Definitely faster in my 1/4” diy 4 way than my old ARB single. I am going to add a driver side coupler and build a new 2x2way, thinking that may speed it up a little more.

I bought a RC portable twin compressor a couple months ago when I couldn't find a mount for my twin ARB that suited me for our '24 Rubicon. I've since mounted the ARB with a Grimm mount and now have no use for the RC portable compressor. It's never been used and I need to list it in the marketplace on here and try to sell it. It does look pretty nice.

Stumbled across something interesting when checking the wiring diagram on RC's site (I swapped to an ARB switch to get rid of the always lit LED). They've completely revised the twin compressor to look nothing like the ARB. The bones may be similar, but who knows now:

Has anyone tried the Rough County Compressor? Looks exactly like the twin ARB, at almost half the cost. Even the plugs look the same. The CFM is the same for both at 6.16.

https://www.roughcountry.com/product/twin-air-compressor-rs205

Mostly I'm wondering if the mount pattern is the same.
I've never understood the idea of purchasing those tiny little twin air compressor setups. I mean sure you can hide them a lot better and they take up less space, but as much as they're charging for them, you can get way more bang for your buck and way faster air up with a slightly bigger system.

Though I haven't put the money into it yet, this is what I'm going to be getting.
https://thorslightningairsystems.com/products/lightning-bolt-totalcontrol-true-dual-air-compressor

RC Twin Air Compressor: 6.16 CFM
ARB Twin Air Compressor: 6.16 CFM
Thor's Lightning Dual Air Compressor: 10.6 CFM

I get the whole size thing, though I just don't understand why you would want to pay more money to spend more time airing up, when you can spend less money to spend less time airing up! Kind of sounds like a win-win to me! ;)
