I have the extra skid plates on the RSE sliders I have on my 392, and still managed to bend the slider enough to make the step inoperable. The opening in the skid plate no longer lines up with the step. And, the rocker panel of the Jeep actually got pushed in a small amount. That is a mystery to me, because the top of the step slider where it meets the rocker panel is still straight. Only the rocker panel got pushed in. That incident was my fault, due to driver error on Cliffhanger trail last week. I tried to follow the same line a rock buggy in front of me took. A bit too much on the skinny pedal along with the Jeep slipping off a ledge and dropping 3 feet onto the slider. Proof that if you tried hard enough you could probably break an anvil.

I called RSE and ordered a replacement this morning. I am a bit disappointed that they would not sell just the right hand side. Now I have a spare driver side that I don't think I'll ever need because I can see what is happening on my side of the Jeep
They made you buy both sides!?!? Yeah, That is pretty disappointing. That would be good for people to know before they buy RSE products.

I use it every day as a step. I also tend to get out of the Jeep, stand on the top rail, and survey the parking lot looking for the best lines over the parking stops.

I've bent mine and had a shop straighten them out. That wasn't an option?

I guess I should have taken off the passenger side one that wasn't hurt when my first 392 was totaled. Didn't think I'd need just the one since the drivers side was messed up when the kid hit me.

I definitely plan on keeping all of the parts from my current set of Stepsliders. I've already replaced the linkage and then the motor on the driver's side Stepslider, which gets used a lot more than the passenger side, because often I am the only one in the vehicle opening and closing the door. You need to plan on replacing parts that wear out or get damaged with these. They aren't the same as a simple bolt on or weld on rockslider with no moving parts.

I'm normally the only one in mine too, so I'm sure it will wear out like yours. Probably should have took them off the wrecked one since they were only 2 months old. But, it was in the tow yard sitting on the ground because the rear axle was broken in half. I did get everything else off of it that I added though. So far they have been good on the new one. I try to keep them lubed up pretty often.

This thread is what was needed for me to pass on RSE rockslides.
Thanks!
