They are good when they work. But the moment when the motor is defective, it would be a pain in the ass to service.

I had removed and reinstalled the steps 4 times (driver's side) after a year.

RSE has exceptional customer services though.

Also if you plan to do rock crawling, make sure you get the extra guard.

I still have them installed on my Jeep, but I don't ever use the steps anymore. They just serve as regular rock sliders.

And no, I would not recommend them.

I love mine. Running the cables was a pain, but I have a 4xe so there’s extra fun under my jeep. I wish the door switches just tied into the factory harness… I might try to do that. If you have a second set of doors you need a second set of magnets. I bought some of amazon because shipping was 10 and the magnets were 5.

It’s funny that as I read each post I couldn’t help but notice that nobody posts a picture of this thing. It looks good. I’ve got the Rubicon sliders on mine, but I would like a step on the passenger side.

I had the prev generation on my 2018 and the current generation on my 2021. They are great and as mentioned, customer service is 10/10. The only unpleasant experience is the sound the body bolts make when loosening them during the install. Your soul will leave your body the 1st time you hear the "pop". Just re-tighten 1/2 turn and then proceed loosening again.

This is great advice regarding backing the body bolts out, and what I was told by the RSE techs. As soon as you feel the thread bind, turn it back in and then walk it out again. The thread lock the factory uses is for real.

I watched your video and the one below from @Northridge4x4 and installed mine before I was aware of the body mount bolt issues. Ignorance is bliss.

Here is a video of mine with added sound effects (volume up)
