Any tips or tricks for cleaning these out and/or prevention for future trail trips?

Which one? The solid cord or the tubing? Or does it matter?

I just pushed it in using a plastic trim tool to ensure no scratches.

Is it just pushed in place and held with pressure or did you use some type of adhesive ? Thanks
Pushed mine in there with my fingers. It comes out a tiny bit every six months or so and you just it back in.

It does get a little obnoxious having to push it back in every once in a while. I had one get loose enough on the front driving down 470 that pulled back and started whipping my hood. Might try some double sided tape and see if it helps any, but I have my doubts.

I notice different sizes are being used. I wonder how much of a difference that makes for staying put longer.

I used the tube shown in the video above. Been in place since June 1st and has never come out. Great mod for your Jeep. To remove the small rocks when installed I gently pushed the fender down and a used a point pick to flick the rock out without damaging the paint. Emphasis on gently

I used a plastic squeegee to get a uniform insertion and depth. It has stayed in place well with pressure. I think the trick is to get it pushed in a good amount without going too deep, if that makes sense. It took me a couple of attempts to get it right.

I dont get too many stuck in there. I bought the foam strips awhile ago but didn't like how it was going/staying in. I just keep a skinny pair of tiny needle nose pliers and use something skinny like a bamboo skewer to flick out stubborn rocks. Like the prev post said. Just apply a little pressure to the fender and they come out easy. I'm actually surprised none of the little rocks have scratched anything yet.

I became frustrated with this terrible design on my first JL, so the 392 now has the rubber beading. I ordered the tubing and it has remained in place through many pressure washings etc.
