I was thinking similarly about a welt. But I'd use something larger like 1/2" welt . 1/4" still leaves a large V for larger rocks/debris.

This works well. I only had 1 rock in my fenders, when last time I had many. Thanks for the post!
No problem - worked for me as well, very helpful- I basically run them when I go offroad or mud, other than that I take em off (takes 5 mins to install)

It will be interesting to see if moisture/salt trapped behind the rubber will be an issue. I have been using a small orange handled 90* pick form Habor Freight for stone removal. Keep it in the small console box....
Nice assortment of mints.

It is really a cartel product that hides in plain site. Same with the liquid in the vial.
Funny... I was gonna make mention of the vial. I must say that's quite an assortment of objects; nail clipper, tube of... something, lighter, etc.

Replete with preparation!

Maybe I didnt cram the hose in hard/far enough, but after a 600 mile highway trip last weekend, 3 fenders were rejecting the hose and I pulled them all off before they went missing. They lasted about 1000 miles of around town driving before that. Maybe I'll try again.

Ours are tucked in pretty good. I also tucked the ends in, to where you cant see them. Been holding up so far, but we'll see. Cheap enough to not care if the mod doesnt hold up.

^ ^ ^ Same here... ends in as well. I have them tucked in snugly... about 3k miles in & they haven't come loose, even after hosing the Jeep down several times Every now & then I tuck 'em in a bit more with a pastic panel remover thingy.

Is the weather-stripping still necessary for 2020s? I've got a 2021 coming in and was wondering whether i need to order this or not (assuming finish is the same on the 21s as it is the 20s)

Yes, the fenders are still the same, so the same issue still exists.

It's only necessary if you don't want small rocks, twigs, debris, etc. to get caught in between the body & fender. It's also only one of several options; some owners use caulk or silicone.
