Older thread but figured i'd add an idea incase it helps others.

I used some "window screen spline" and wedged it in the fender gaps. If you've ever repaired a screen window you know the stuff. Its a flexible rubber tubing with little grip ridges built in. Available at pretty much any hardware store.

There is a YouTube video on a fix from “way of life” guy. Used rubber tube from amazon meant for this kinda thing

Hey guys, this what I’m doing, it’s 1/4inch o.d. Rubber tubing, get it any hardware store, I put it in as part of the getting ready for wheeling procedure takes 2 minutes, then I pull it out when we clean her up.

Yeah i'm aware of that video and even considered ordering some welting. I'm just throwing an alternative out there using something many may already have in their garage.

Great idea. Can you show us a pic of how this works?

Here's a couple pictures of the spline, same as Roky posted above, just a different type of tubing.

You pretty much just wedge it in the fender notch...

Good stuff guys. I ordered the same stuff as [Banned Site]. I should have my Jeep in the next week or so and I am going to do this right away.

I just added the rubber tubing as suggested in the video. Pretty easy to install. Has anyone had any issues with this stuff melting to the plastic? I'm considering using paracord instead.

I've yet to hear about any issues using the rubber tubing.

I wouldn't use paracord or any other multi stranded material. Abrasives love to accumulate on braided rope and cable, which would reek havoc on the paint. The smooth texture of the rubber tubing makes it far less prone to doing the same. The tubing could even be treated with the same silicone lubricant used to keep window and door seals supple and longer lasting. It might also have the same affect as wax on a window and help repel anything from collecting on the tubing, like dust and sand.
