Wondering if anyone has compiled a list for 2dr JL's?

Also looking for experience/recommendations.

Bump. I realize it is NYE but I have the dreaded WORA (Wrangler Off Road Addiction) virus. Worse than RSV. I heard better rock rails are the cure.

I wasn't able to find a complete list, but some I know of are:

Shrockworks
LOD
Rockhard 4x4
Metalcloak
ACE
Rockslide Engineering
TNT Customs
ARB
Barricade
Rugged Ridge
Motobilt
Greenlane Offroad

I am sure there are more, but that's what I could think of off the top of my head and find with a quick search.

I have Shrockworks installed on mine. They mount to the frame and stick out a bit for a step

This is the direction I have been leaning as well, I just wish they covered the pinch seam better. They look a lot better in your pictures than others I have seen.

Rockslider Engineering. I got the heavy duty outer armor and have slid and hit rocks with them without harm.

They cover the pinch seam except about 1/2 inch on each end. They said this is to accommodate larger tires, in case trimming is needed. I know pinch seam trimming was needed with the JK, but not so sure about the JL. Anyway, they are stout and are frame mounted, which was important to me.

Some people still trim for larger tires but I think it is more in the rear wheel well than anything. Also, I meant cover the pinch seam vertically up towards the door sill. They sit a bit lower than other options, but that makes sense because they mount to the frame.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
I'd probably have these if my wife didn't need an actual step, for the price they seem pretty good, get good reviews, and love the look of them nice & tight to the body. Getting harder to find though, used to be on amazon but can't find them over there ATM. Here's an ebay link

I like the looks of those. Once I lift it a bit and go to 315s, I will know better if I should get a step for my wife. One thing I do know is I don’t want the step to protrude lower than the rail potentially causing a hang up.

Gary @Krondor has the Metalcloak 2 piece steps/sliders, if I wasn't on a postal budget they would be in the cart!

I wheeled w/ a guy last year in Colorado (he was from Texas) and had those sliders on his JK 2dr, towed his Jeep to Colorado and has done a good amount of rock crawling and was very happy w/ them FWIW.

The Metalcloak 2 piece looks ideal but definitely pricey… $1016.00 w/black powder coat. :surprised:

I ordered Shrockworks' sliders for my 2 door but they wouldn't fit. After a very frustrating several months saga involving slow communication and a replacement slider that didn't fit either, they told me that their slider tolerances didn't work on all 2 doors and others had had this problem.
