I have the Husky liner in my 2 dr like in this pic but I have my back seat folded up. I just cut the front of the mat in two places, so I didn't have to remove the seat in order to fit the mat over the seat anchors in the floor.

Don't worry about covering up the sub if you have one. It doesn't affect the sound.

I've tried a couple of cargo liners for my 2-door so far. I ordered the Husky cargo liner, but as soon as I picked up the box that Fed Ex dropped off, I knew I had bought a cheap cargo liner, because it was so light weight that I questioned if anything was even in the box. Sure enough, it is a super thin plastic material that is slick. It slides around on the carpet, and even after being in the sun for two weeks the edges are still curled up.

Here is the Husky liner: It fits when it hasn't slid out of position, but it is a cheap and crappy cargo liner if you ask me.

So then, I wanted to answer my original question about whether a 4-door cargo liner would work in a 2-door without the seat. The best floor mats and bedliner I have used are the 3Wliners mats and bedliner we have in our Gladiator. They fit like a glove and are far higher quality. But 3Wliners does not make a cargo liner for a 2-door JL, so I ordered a 3Wliners cargo liner for a 4-door, knowing that I have a 4-door already, and if the 3Wliners cargo liner would not fit our 2-door we could always use it in our 4-door.

A cargo liner for a 4-door could be made to fit a 2-door without the rear seat, but it wouldn't be perfect. The main problem is that the cargo space for a 4-door is about 4" shorter than the cargo space of a 2-door without a seat. So, you would have a gap either at the front or back with exposed carpet if you used a 4-door cargo liner in a 2-door. There is also a notch on the passenger side of a 2-door that would need some trimming of a 4-door cargo liner to fit well (not a big deal). I decided not to try to make a 4-door cargo liner fit my 2-door and put the 3Wliners cargo liner in my 4-door.

Here it is, I think it is a much better cargo liner. It fits like a glove and doesn't slide around. Too bad 3Wliners doesn't make one for a 2-door.

So, the answer to my question of whether a cargo liner for a 4-door fits a 2-door with the seat out, is: Not really.

What else is there for a 2-door though? Rugged ridge looks like they also use a thin plastic material, but at least it has spikes on the bottom to prevent it from slipping around. Is Weathertech also a thin plastic material?

I have the weather tech one as well and I think it’s pretty good. It does have minimal sliding because it isn’t a tight fit.

Also like my full-length WeatherTech cargo liner, though it was a pain trying to neatly cut out the sub and cargo hook openings. Agree that you should definitely skip the sub section whether you have one or not. In hindsight it does kinda defeat the purpose of having an otherwise mostly mess-resistant liner. I'm guessing there's also probably better tie-down solutions than factory as well, but I find them useful.

I used the weathertech liner in my 2019 for a while but it bugged me that the edge curled up and caught on the bags I have on my tailgate - of course, this made it curl up more and exascerbate the situation. I swapped it out for a Mopar one for a 4 door that I trimmed off the pieces that go on the back of the seat. The coverage isn’t as good but it’s much thicker, doesn’t curl up and so it stays.

The weathertech one now lives in my 2018 but still irks me that it’s too thin and wants to curl up. When I spot another 4 door Mopar mat on marketplace I’ll probably replace it and sell it on.
