I’m surprised to read all this about it riding stiffer. Those TT shocks should be pretty soft.

The creaking you’re hearing might be the frame bushings on the rear sway bar. Spray some WD40 in the rubber bushings where it mounts to the frame and see if it helps. Mine was creaking back there and it was the dry bushing on the sway bar.

Otherwise you shouldn’t really have anything that could creak, unless one of the coils in the rear isn’t seated top and bottom or something.

I know you said your tires are the same from before and after the lift, but which load range 315/70 did you buy? They make them in an E for HD trucks and a C for a Jeep or light truck. That will make a big difference in the ride quality whether the suspension is stock or not.

The spring rates are not that much different from stock up front and out back. We published the rates on here so feel free to check them out. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/spring-rates.16491/#post-403896 The TT shocks are generally firm, not overly-so but firm when compared to our stage 1 shocks.

Since you have an Adventure Series 1, six of your control arms and your rear track bar remain stock. Were those control arm bolts/track bar bolts loosened during install and re-torqued at ride height? Those will have a much greater influence on ride quality than one would expect. I would also verify, like Marcus pointed out above, that the sway bar bushings at the frame are not over tightened as several of our JL's have been, lubrication helps substantially there. Do a chalk test on your tires to determine correct pressure.

Thanks for your help. I fixed 50% of the stiff ride issue...it was due to the front trackbar being on backwards and touching the front pumpkin. It essentially blocked the front axle from having any travel and created a rough ride. See pic:

Fixing this helped alot...the ride is still a good bit stiffer than the stock rubi suspension most likely due to the TT shocks. It's liveable for now, but I wouldnt buy them again.

The next challenge is the larger rear sway bar links. We mounted them on the inside so I could keep the stock wheels which only have 6.2" of backspace. The RK kit calls for 4.5" backspace. I did an axle swap to 1.5" wider d44 axles which provided .75" backspace on each side. See this pic showing I still need another inch of backspace if the sway bar is mounted on outside.

Have you gotten the vehicle aligned yet and everything dialed in?
Thanks for your help. I got it alligned today. It tracks true...suspension is firmer than the mopar lifted jl that I rode in as it felt close to stock. I like the RK lift bc of the adjustability and lack of spring bowing.

Control arms were tightened at ride height with weight on them.

Cool, then it should not have any ESP activation on you.

As far as our specs on tire fitment, wheel offset etc., we just have a stance we like our builds and our customer's builds to have for stability and performance. That is where those specs come from. Then we dial in all our parts from there.

Hard to tell from the angle of the pics but be careful with the links mounted inboard like that, they may contact the stock under full compression

This has been a great thread! I love and appreciate how much Rock Krawler Suspension has been involved. It is making me lean toward their lifts.

I have time, as I am deployed and haven't ordered a Jeep yet. I like to research and plan what I will do once I have one (in the Summer). That being said, I can't decide between the Max Travel or X Factor! My plan is a JLR, 2.5" lift, 37x13.5R17 Ridge Grapplers.

I prefer a firm ride. I do not like the floaty feel of some vehicles at highway speeds. When I test drove a JLUR I didn't get that feeling, but prefer just a little firmer than that.

Steering, here I prefer that sense of resistance to responsive control. When I turn the wheel, I like to feel that the wheels are turning. Not a fan of soft or sloppy steering.

So my questions are....which of the two is best to achieve my preferences? I am a beginner when it comes to trails and off road, but I have some friends to go with. I have no plans to tackle MOAB or the Rubicon Trail tomorrow ya know? At the same time, this will be my driver to prevent more piles of miles on my truck. I am considering a steering stabilizer (leaning toward the RC dual because I like the balance aspect it suggests).

Thank you for your services and we hope you make it home for the holidays! As far as we are concerned if you are starting out with a fresh build and looking at the X Factor Series, start with either the Flex System or make the leap to the X Factor System. The only reason to do a Max. Travel would be if you were going to do a driveline swap right away and need the extra adjustment in the rear for more pinion angle adjustment. As far as steering is concerned our track bar and ends is one of the strongest and tightest in the industry so that takes care of that end of things. However, the sloppy feel in the drag link and tie rod will still be there. The best solution on the market for them currently is the Steer Smarts products. Steersmarts has a OE replacement drag link as well so you do not have to do the high steer option which will work great for rigs not needing high steer...

Rock Krawler has some of the best riding springs on the market, so you are on the right track. Just pair the lift with a good shock and you will be set. When you are ready for Moab, let us know. Fun place.

Thank you for the response! That does help a lot. Is the SS drag link replacement instead of, or in conjunction with a steering stabilizer? I am trying to google it now, but internet and ship life are not a functional marriage lol

That is what I am researching now also. Looking maximum the Falcon 3.3, minimum the FOX 2.0...or something in between possibly.

Thank you for the response! That does help a lot. Is the SS drag link replacement instead of, or in conjunction with a steering stabilizer? I am trying to google it now, but internet and ship life are not a functional marriage lol
You mentioned steering feel and crispness, that is why we mentioned the steer smarts tie rod and drag link. The stabilizer will have no effect on that what so ever.
