Trying to remove stock muffler and it's stuck to the pipe pretty well. Everything is loosened.

Am i just not giving it enough muscle? I'm just apprehensive about whacking it because I don't want to damage any other connections of the exhaust up stream.

Tell me your tricks!

I remember mine being pretty tight on the axleback. There's an indexing tab welded onto it that the OE muffler locks onto with a matching notch. Took a lot of wiggling and prying. You should be a-ok to whack away.

I do see the spot weld for the clamp on the muffler and i see a slit in the muffler and a notch on the mid pipe for said slit. But it's just a straight. I'll grab some wood and start hitting a little harder.

Wiggle and rock the shit out of it. Mine was pretty tight but it gave way. Maybe squirt a little oil in the joint to help loosen it up.

I just took mine out last week - is the issue on the pipe or on the hanger? The pipe clamps were really easy to loosen and you had to unthread them a lot to allow enough play, IIRC.

for the hangers, I squeezed some WD-40 on both ends and it slid out a LOT easier.

It's disconnecting the muffler from the mid pipe

I got the clamp completely off - fully unscrewed and opened the little clasp with a flat screwdriver. Once the clamp is off, and assuming the muffler is off the hangers… have at it!
