Curious as to your thoughts on the sound for the different muffler elimination pipes out there. Most of what I see is a 2.5 in pipe across the the different brands. So in theory shouldn't they all sound the same since tail pipes don't really give the tone?

The dynomax is out of stock right now so I was looking at the Flowmaster or MBPR.

want to know what it sounds like? yank off your muffler and you will know what it sounds like. i have the dynomax on mine. its just a pipe extender to push it out a little further. but if you yank your muffler, you can at least know what it sounds like. you can also check Summit and Jegs. they carry them. i got mine from one of them for cheaper than the Jeep sites.

Thanks I figured they were all the same sound not sure why some sites list one louder than another. The dynomax seems sold out everywhere

What Dirty Steve said. :)

I had toyed with the idea of deleting the muffler on my 2.0T Jeep. Two things put me off the idea: the observed drone, no matter the eliminator pipe used, and more to the point, the comical asking prices for said pipes. NFW is a $20 length of tubing worth the C-note+ that most mainline vendors ask for it.

I just bought the Pypes brand from extreme for 82 bucks. If you remove your stock muffler and run it it will sound the same from the outside with or without the delete pipe. But interior wise, substantialy louder without pipe delete.

I did it on my 4xe for less than a month. At least from my perspective, it's not worth it. I'd rather smash the shit out of my stock muffler on a rock.

I had the AFE muffler delete for a few months. It was too much drone. I then went to the AFE high-tuck muffler and it sounds great, more deep bass tone, no real drone.

Either way, just can’t stand seeing the huge stock muffler hang low, had to get rid of it!

I tried to remove my muffler (2022 JLRU), but after loosening the clamp, it appeared to be welded in a few spots, so I couldn't get it off. Did you cut your muffler pipe to slip on the muffler delete, or do I need to bang the shit out of it until it will slide off? I swear it seemed like there were a few small welds holding it on.

It’s definitely not welded anywhere. Mine (ā€˜22 JLUR) was a bear to get off, but it did eventually come off after the right combo of swear words.

Thanks.
What did you replace the stock muffler with?
I didn’t. Just wanted to see how it sounded. I put it right back on. I’m planning on going with the Banks or AFE high tuck mufflers.

I’ve had this done on my wife’s JLU for almost 5 years. I thought she would’ve hated it, but she loves the sound. Small pops at wot shifts are cute too ?
