Installing front Dana 60 and track bar is much closer to oil filter I could go taller springs but prefer to keep LCG.
Has anyone relocated their oil filter? If so what kit and where did you relocate it to?

many thanks,
Rob

What axles are you running? I’ve dented my larger SRT oil filter getting a little too spirited off road but that was from the upper control arm mount smashing into it. I’m running Dynatrac XD 60s.

ECGS HP60 - 40 spline inner / outer bigbell RCV's and 4" axle tubes...just got the control arms bolted up and have NOT cycled yet, but wow trackbar seems really close to end of filter.

  • I can close down bump stops limiting up travel
  • Add taller springs (currently running Synergy 4" springs which claim 2" for 392)
  • Relocate filter but I swear I read others having trouble finding a remote kit that does not leak at the block, but I can't find those threads and may have dreamed it or else it is somewhere across 4 social media types and can't find it again)
  • 99% sure doing nothing will end catastrophically!

You would need something like this at the link below. That screws to your existing oil filter adapter and the to/from lines come out of the bottom. Keeping the existing adapter with the antifreeze oil cooler setup would be a lot less hassle/ modifications to deal with. I've looked a couple of times on mine and can't figure out where to mount the oil filter relocation bracket.

I have added a remote filter on a 351W on my 66 Ford Bronco...no inner fenders and I was worried about rocks taking it out. Tons more room in the engine bay and relocating was a snap and I was able to run through a single pass cooler as well and no issues with leaking and that has been on there for 10+ years. I was hoping someone had already figured it out for our 392 Rubicons...

I agree Dan, I have looked also and not sure where to mount but assume going to have to go really remote up between gas tank and t-case area.

Until you cycle it unfortunately you won’t be able to really determine what you need to do. I’ll take another look at mine today to see what exactly is hitting the oil filter. Been a while since I’ve crawled underneath it, mine is still muddy from the last Windrock trip I did. Bumpstops and pushing the axle forward will probably be your best bet.
