Has anyone seen what the Mopar air filter looks like for a 392 Hemi Wrangler? Have a pic of it? Is it really heavy duty?

Would like to have an AEM Dry Flo drop in replacement for it as I have used those in my old JK and in my Challenger Hellcat. Hopefully they will release one.

I thought they were a little bit on the small side for a 6.4 L. They do fit perfectly in the 6 quart pennzoil box though. Good place to store a few extras. I ordered a couple and they did not come in a box just in a plastic bag

What are those two strips of what look like glue on the bottom of the air filter? Do you take them off?

Quadratec lists a different part number (68257030AA) for JL 2018-2023 engine air filter. Does this mean that the filter shown at Quadratec is NOT the correct engine air filter for the 392?

I was unable to find the part number listed here (68501780AB) on Quadratec website.

Can you please provide a link to where I can buy the correct air filter?

Thanks in advance!

They are not special nor heavy duty, they do their job just fine, and why would you think they are heavy duty?

Hmm.... That looks like a Fram filter. I'm going to pull the filter out of my Gen V Viper and see if it's the same size as what will fit in the 392. The Viper filter is supposed to be vehicle specific, but it's also supposed to be the best in filtering efficiency and flow. If the 392 does indeed use a Fram filter, I wouldn't mind having some alternative options if they're out there. Never had a good experience with Fram (except in the 70's when they were top of the line).

392 Owners Manual says:
30,000 miles normal service
12,000 miles for off-road (inspect or replace)

I changed mine at 12,000 miles with around 2,000 miles of dusty off-road. The engine air filter still looked pretty clean, probably could of left it alone.
The cabin air filter on the other hand, was heavily full of dust...

Thank you Sir! I’ve only changed cabin air filter on my previous Jeep GC in the 3rd year of ownership and never replaced the engine air filter in 7 years. Will keep your words in mind.

Cabin filter can fill up FAST. The 392 slings SO MUCH sand, and the cowl lets it in super easy. I’d suggest turning off your HVAC system in sand. My vents are full of sand, clear to the rear passengers. I hope I haven’t ruined the doors/flaps in the system.
