Redline Tuning Hood Struts

A while back, I was parked in front on the garage with the hood raised. The wind was gusty, but not to bad. I went into the garage to grab a tool and when I came out, the hood was now resting against the windshield frame. It apparently hit hard enough to make two very minor dents in the hood where it hit the windshield frame. It is going onto the Paintless Dent Repair in the morning. He said $150 bucks and about 3 hours would get it back to good as new.

So today, to prevent the hood from ever flying away again, I installed the Redline Tuning hood strut kit made for specifically for the Jeep. It about a 10 minute job. I've installed the Redline Tuning Struts on my 2022 Ford Ranger and my 2020 Ford Escape. Very nice upgrade.

I put these on my Gladiator Mojave which had a very heavy hood. Made lifting the hood a one hand operation. Don't think I need them on the Wrangler.

Are they easy to disconnect if you want to move the hood all the way up to the windshield?

Yes they are. You just push down on the little red button & they pop right off of the fender mount ball stud. The top remains attached to the hood and stays out of your way when it is in the full upright position.

Dang wind is NEVER going to cause me to go to the dent repair shop ever again!

Yes, we have Quick disconnect end fittings on the lower end to easily lean the hood back. See video below:

Just FYI They defiantly get in the way of the ARB Air switch and hose connection

FYI, I can attest that the redline tuning struts do not interfere with locating the Warn winch solenoid next to the battery. Best mod I have made to my Jeep.
