I am looking to remove the Recon badges on both side fenders, question is how to do it, AND save one of them to put on tailgate where I think i'd like it better...ideas? Experiences?

I know some people heat them up and use dental floss, but I'm curious as well. I'm trying to figure out a way to remove the sport decals on mine myself. For reapplying that badge, you could probably scrape off the old adhesive and use a double sided 3M tape. I think that's what they use already?

Dental floss or fishing line (cuts through the adhesive backing - keep it close to the emblem not the paint), clean off the old adhesive, apply 3M tape and reuse.

Decals just require a hot day/ hair dryer, a fingernail to get them started and patience to peel off in 1 piece.

You will need Goo Gone to melt off the residual glue..3M makes great adhesives

Can't recommend the 3M stripe off wheel (07498) enough for removing the double-sided tape after you take the badges off. About $35 but worth every penny. It'll save you a ton of scraping and soaking time.

Also if you do use goo gone, make sure you use a microfiber and not paper/shop towels so you don't scratch up your clear coat...and make sure you don't use goof off, entirely different products.

Goo Gone makes an automotive application as well, but it looks like Amazon is out right now ...

For hard emblems, floss, then eraser wheel.
For stickers, just go straight to eraser wheel
