I've been a forum lurker for a while now, but I am finally ready to order. Has anybody had any luck RECENTLY with Arizona dealers? I've been laughed out of some of the dealerships when asking them to come close to anything under invoice. I've honestly never experienced such rude salesman. One day they will have inventory and need customers again...

If I have to travel, I will, but figured I would try to stay local first if possible. Peterson's in Nampa is a good price, but their requirement of maxing down payment at 5% is really a non-starter and their price without the finance incentive is not competitive with Gupton's. Gupton's seems the way to go with the difference between their finance incentive pricing only being ~$500 on my Rubi build. But Nashville is a LONG DRIVE from Phoenix!

Nope. I had the same experience this past January, even with dealers such as Earnhardt and directly emailing the contacts previously suggested on the forum. Some stopped responding to my emails. I ordered from Mark Dodge in Louisiana at 6% below invoice and I'm having it shipped to me. I picked Mark Dodge over Gupton because the shipping is about $500 cheaper, and hopefully quicker as Mark Dodge is very close to I-10, so it's a straight, single highway drive.

Who did you deal with at Mark Dodge? Was it Aaron? Do they have any tied finance requirements for the 6%?

Yes, Aaron. No finance requirements. It's 5% off + 1% for Tread Lightly. I think they may do something different with the 1% where sometimes it's capped at $500 or some other amount, based on what I've seen. I just told them I had TL when I asked for a quote; my final number was close to 6%, and sufficient for me.

Try Costco. I went with Earnhardt (at 5% under), but Costco was offering 2% under at the time. I recall that Chapman/Scottsdale was the local Costco dealer.

Was this a while ago? Earnhardt would be my local dealer, but they have been non-responsive. Do you remember who you worked with?

I can't find UNDER INVOICE now in Phoenix. I did 1.5 years ago for my wife's, but now that I am buying mine, the best I could find in the valley is Earnhardt's in Gilbert at Invoice + $1,000.

I'm not sure how RickinAZ got 5% under invoice recently, or if that was for his 2021 Rubicon Dsl.
Good luck.

Think I am about to place it with Gupton. I'll make a nice little trip out of the drive home from Tennessee. It's worth it for the amount saved.

I went with Earnhardt only beacause they were so good to work with on my wife's 2021 Wrangler and were willing to dig deep when they could. I know I'm paying more than if I went out-of-state, but there it is.

Justin Sutherland. This was on an ordered vehicle. Lot vehicles don't get as heavily discounted (if, at all)

Just to be clear, my experience was Summer 2020. The point that I was trying to make was that Costco's discount may be unchanged. I just mentioned 5% under to explain why I didn't go with Costco at the time.

All of that said, I'm shocked that anyone is offering a discount, given the law of supply/demand. And...for Heaven's sake don't buy off the lot folks. You'll end up with options that you don't want that will neutralize any savings you may get. I haven't bought a vehicle off the lot for 20 years. The wait is worth it. Your window sticker even has your name on it. :)

I’m having mine shipped back from Gupton next week. I just did the DocuSign today. They have been great to deal with and shipping was reasonable considering fuel prices right now ($1,300).
