Finally made it to the dealer.
New differential on order. They said they still have to replace everything and not just the sensor.
Now I wait until the part comes in.
I was told that if you ignore the locker on light for too long eventually a service differential light goes on. Even if the lockers were edger engaged or not. i had the locker on error light happen in 2022 and 2024. I suspect it will happen within the next two years. If the sensor has the same problems As before. And the dealer would gladly keep doing the work assuming they get paid by somebody.

How is lockers suppose to be turned off?
Mine doesn't, I have to restart engine and it's off.
Technically if you didn’t engage the Diff locker your warning light is a false positive for locker engaged. There isn’t a need to turn the locker off because it’s probably off already. If you take a turn on pavement you would hear the scuffing of the inner wheel closest to the turn. It’s trying to turn at the same speed and distance as the outer wheel.

They had to replace the whole housing. Can’t believe it. Covered under the drivetrain warranty so whatever.

they did have to modify the replacement assembly since the original was modded for the lift kit

$0

I’ll see what happens when this sensor goes out.

This happened to my 2019 JL yesterday. The crazy thing is that this Jeep had the Z-automotive sensor bypasses installed when I bought it. It seems like this shouldn't be an issue with those sensor bypasses, but it obviously is happening. Anyone else had this issue with the Z-automotive bypasses?

I think it means your actuator coil is faulty.

My front locker had the fault a few years ago. It was before the sensor kit was issued and they were replacing the entire axles. Mine was just out of warranty at the time.

I bought a Z-Automotive sensor bypass. No joy. In testing the locker, I found that it was the actuator coil that had an internal short in the winding. I also discovered that this part is not sold by jeep. The only way to get that part from Jeep is to buy an entire axle assembly.

As far as I know there are not any aftermarket lockers that retain the OEM 32 spline axles for the Rubicon axles. Rubicon axles have a unique offset of the differential within the housing that require specific length axle shafts. ARB, OX, and Eaton lockers for the Rubicons require 35 spline aftermarket axle shafts.

I searched for used parts and didn't find any. I spent countless hours on the internet looking for a solution. I researched and found that there are other vehicles that use the Dana 44 Advantek. I found that the Bronco Raptor used a similar D44 locker system. I went through a lot of research to find and purchase what is needed to install the Raptor locker. You can read about it here Front Locker Coil Replacement with Bronco Locker | Jeep Wrangler Forums (JL / JLU) -- Rubicon, 4xe, 392, Sahara, Sport - JLwranglerforums.com
