Yes the tech also heard it and agreed it was knock. I had to drive it with the tech inside in order for them to hear it.
I’m running 93 octane in mine as of yesterday. I’ll update again and see if I notice a difference once I burn that up. Keep us posted!

Curious if the higher octane fuel has fixed this for you? I believe I have a similar noise in mine.

Well my Jeep was at the dealer for 2 days straight. They claim its not the engine or transmission but dont know what it is. They heard it when I did a test drive inside with them but said they were unable to recreate it :-(.

My Jeep continues to make the noise which I heard as soon as I drove out. I don't know what else to do. They said that they're positive its not the engine or transmission and that they couldn't find anything loose.

I've only burned off a few gallons since filling up with 93. Pretty sure I still heard a tiny bit of the noise this morning but I haven't driven long enough to be sure. I'll be sure to keep an ear out this week.

That's a bummer.. There has got to be a cause for the noise!

Agreed. It is not a good sounding noise :-(. Anyone working with @JeepCares in reference to this situation? My concern is that it is the engine which is going to damage it over time... I can even feel the sensation of it through my foot as I drive.

They claim its not the engine but still cant identify what it is. I'm just frustrated that I've had to bring my Jeep in twice now for the same issue and after having no vehicle for 48 hours, the problem hasn't even been identified.

I love my Jeep but a brand new vehicle should not sound like this. I still believe its an engine knock as I've heard it before with older vehicles.

I have zero confidence in FCA techs after some of my family's experiences with their service departments.

I still hear the noise with 93 mixed in with about half tank of 87 but I don't hear it as often. Gonna try 93 after I'm empty to see if a fresh tank helps.

Mine still has spark knock as well. Ive noticed ambient temps seem to affect it. The cooler it is outside, the less it does it. Curious to see if it completely goes away this winter. May just be something as simple as bad parameters in the variable timing during hot weather

Same here. I ran a full tank of 93 and it seemed to go away. Definitely affected by outside temps as you said. I'm back to running 87 since that extra 8 bucks a tank is rough when I average 16.5 mpg on my commute.

Yes, I'm noticing the same thing. The other day I topped off with 93 after having a 1/4 tank left of a 93/87 mixture. Super hot/humid afternoon, some highway and city driving with A/C on. Pinging noise was still there.

I wonder how many Jeeps are having this issue? I would like to know if Jeep is working on a fix. I don't want to see future issues with internal engine damage due to this issue now. My Jeep does sound worse when it's a hot day as well. This sound can't be normal or caused by incorrectly using the vehicle.

I may have it too. To me it sounds similar it a dieseling sound. Just have it at lower RPM and speed when I got to accelerate. It’s really noticeable when I have the radio off or I’m going through a drivethru.

I run 87, but may switch to 91 to see if it helps as some say it’s knocking due to gas.

Funny, I was driving next to another JLU Sahara today, had my windows down thinking, "I wonder if that JLU makes that noise too".. Sure enough, it was making the same rattling noise when accelerating! Maybe it's just that common?
