Anyone experience this? 2018 JLUR 17k miles. Almost sounds like it's behind the air conditioning vent top left of dash or under the speaker grill.

Rattles over bumps. Just started recently I believe due to hitting a massive pothole on the left side.

First make sure your sun visor is not causing the rattle. I added two bumper felt door cushions to both my visors and vibration gone.

Hi CZ 75,

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this concern with your Wrangler. We recommend having this concern diagnosed by your local certified Jeep dealer as they are in the best position to assist. Our team is available via private message if you are in need of any assistance with that process.

2019 JLUR, but the issue sounds very similar. It sounds like it's somewhere to the left and forward of the center of the gauges. I've checked the sun visor, but it sounds lower than that anyway. I saw on another thread where someone mentioned the brake pedal rattling against the cylinder, but mine will happen when braking.
I'm afraid of the dealership disassembling the dash and causing more issues than it fixes.

Good luck getting your service dept. to disassemble your dash for a rattle. They will first say they don’t hear it. If you press them, they keep it for multiple days and say they can’t find it (but probably never tried). Eventually you’ll get worn down and just pick up your Jeep. :CWL:

I suggest dropping your windshield, which is easy to do, and popping out the speaker, which is even easier. Make sure the wire is where it needs to be and not in a position to vibrate. Zip tie if needed.

Do also check for the sticker/label that I mentioned. For such a small thing, it made a hell of a lot of noise.

Good luck!

I found mine to be the panel that holds the headlight switch. When I heard the rattle I could push that panel with my finger and it would stop. I ended up with a tiny piece of black foam rubber just a little larger than the size of a toothpick and used a plastic knife to push it in where that panel meets the dash. That took care of it.

Hi Crumpert,
We certainly understand why this may be frustrating. We also understand your hesitation to visit your dealer, however, we would be happy to provide additional assistance throughout this process should you chose to do so! Please send our team a private message.

I just picked up my JLU Saturday and am having the exact same issues. Its most noticeable on podcasts or talk radio and its driving me insane. Glad to hear I am not crazy. I'm gonna try some of these tonight.

Ma’am. I have it going in to the dealer to put the mopar lift on Wednesday. Is there something I can tell the service department to have them look at this. I’m sure it’s an easy fix and I’d hate for them to be in there all day?

Hi Dan,
I do not have any technical advice as I am not mechanically trained but I would be happy to connect you with a Case Specialist who will work with your dealer to help find a potential solution to this. If you'd like to go this route, please send us a private message!

I have the rattle and have not resorted to pulling the dash out yet, but it's going to happen.
