Does the door plug that gutter and when you open it, it just releases the whole thing ?!

No doubt it is real. I've seen it on a few JKs.

I had to build up a pad of RTV silicon caulking at the A-pillar to stop my JK door gasket from leaking. I guess I will have to run a plastic tube down the A-pillar to the floor pan drain hole? lol

Water pouring into the Jeep from the rain gutter..

My soft top JL has the same issue. It was parked on a slight uphill driveway, so when I get into the car, there is no water coming down. I then drove it to a store=> parked on a flat lot=> opened my door=>no issues. I guess water got blew away while driving.
When I return 30 minutes later, water comes down in a stream just like yours. So the problem is there for both hard top and soft top.

Seems like the easiest solution for now is some silcone caulk at the front of the driprail (at the A-post) like someone already mentioned.

I get it, though. If this was a known issue on the JK, it should have been addressed during the redesign.

it sucks big time! it seems they didn't solve this issue that plagued the JK model, i was thinking to buy a JLU by the end of the year but with this issue i think I'm going to wait and see. Its a shame and its unbelievable FCA couldn't solve this issue and also they increased the price...

They could, but sales haven't fallen so there is no financial reason to.

In my experience, that goes for most Jeep issues; they handle complaints through the warranty and know a lot of buyers will dismiss issues with "it's a Jeep!" Frankly they must be high-fiving in the board room to see people are still doing that despite MSRPs of $50K+.

Only if sales fall will they address them and we've already seen at least one other JK issue (loose airbag loom wire) causing the same problem on the JL.

Note Jeep is far from the only company to do this; Porsche has long had issues and they get increasing J.D. Power scores because so many are so happy to have "finally" purchased a Porsche they forgive all the issues that should normally be unforgiveable in a $100K vehicle.

I was wondering the same thing. I was in some hard rain yesterday and had no issue in my Rubicon. I’m wondering if there is some difference between the trim levels.

Either I have had a unique experience or I'm oblivious to this happening in my JK. I have a '14 JKU Sahara Altitude w/ the color matched hard top, which I've had since new, and I don't ever recall the streams coming in like in these videos. Maybe it is how I'm parked or something, but even this past Sunday in a Target parking lot with pretty good rain I didn't notice this when coming back to the Jeep after being in the store about 30-45 minutes. Looking forward to some videos/photos of a fix as I'm most likely leaning toward the hard top again in the JLU, but probably just black this time for the two-tone look / cost savings.

I can tell you for sure the issue is there on a 2019 Rubicon hard top. I normally only park inside, but today parked on a level driveway. Could not believe how much water came into the car.
With my JK, I am not sure I ever drive it in the rain the entire time I had it, so I cannot say. Super annoying to be sure, regardless of the Jeep's price.
Sadly no extensions are available so far.

The older I get the less shit bothers me.
These JLs are so improved over the past, it's almost like they're too refined. It's a Jeep.

The rear wiper motor was loud on the Jk and it's load on the JL too. Doesn't bother me a bit. It's a Jeep not a Lincoln.

I have experienced the same problem with water streaming into the cabin when opening the door in the rain. The gutter on the hard top terminates before it reaches the windshield so that rain water falls on the side window if the door is closed and inside if the door is open. There is nothing damming the water when the door is closed, so it is basically redirecting the rain water from the roof to the cabin. Yes, my CJ leaks much more rain water into the cabin, but that doesn’t make it any less annoying.

Oh, and I thought the rear wiper motor sounded like a baby crying, until my wife put two and two together. It would be more annoying if it was the front wipers. As it is, I rarely use the rear wiper.
