Question regarding the Windsheld defrost

I checked mine when I took delivery last Friday, same problem and have an appointment for this Friday for them to look at it. Don’t see them doing anything about it but at least it will documented.

Well i have a solution that works great, looks pretty decent and can be installed or removed in about 8 seconds.
I was looking at the vent thinking I need to plug a bunch of these to divert air to the sides. Well the vent is actually a bunch of little squares approx 5/8 by 5/8. So I went in search of something that size and I found it. Socket holders, 1/2 inch by 1/2 socket holders. You can buy them in black and they have a little stainless ball that helps keep them in place. I bought two strips that were approximately 9-10 inches long. Layed them face down over the vent, lined up the squares and pushed it in. I left the center two squares open and covered the rest that fell under the 9-10 inch area on either side of center. Since they are black plastic I cant even tell they are there and it works perfect. Drove two hours in an ice storm the other day and zero fogging or wiper freeze. I actually bought a third one and took off the individual pieces and filled in any remaining spots in the first two. Similar to the pic but all plastic. I bought mine at a store called Princess Auto in Canada. Cost me 20 bucks total

He told me that he's going to greatly reduce his work on YouTube for personal reasons. I noticed that he's already slowing way down on content that he puts out.

This thread has me curious. I'm going to go outside and check mine this afternoon.

Yep, mine is the same way. Great airflow to the center of the windshield. Little to nothing on the sides where the driver and passenger view would be.

Similar issue here but also those little vent bu the door that are supposed to keep your side windows from fogging up so you can use your mirrors. heated mirrors aren't worth squat if you can't see them.

I never had that problem, although I have to admit that the airflow is quite weak. I'm out of town right now to test but I'm guessing the airflow will increase if you block the center vent.

It's sort of like the vents in the rear seat. They're pretty much useless unless you close at least one vent in the front.

No link sorry. Bought at a Canadian store called Princess Auto, similar to Harbor Freight. I looked on their website but was unable to find them.

Had Mopar start a Star Case... when I took it in to the Dealer they checked three other New Wranglers on the lot and said that mine performs as the others and nothing they can do until Mopar recognizes the inherent design flaw.

What need to be done or what the problem is..... a diverter plate needs to be installed inside of the duct work. to help divert the air to the sides.

Amazon has the Osla socket rails, you say it is 1/2 by 1/2 so I assume that is 1/2" sockets.

Correct, the holes are closer to 5/8 by 5/8 inch but the 1/2 inch socket holders fit nicely

Saw socket rails at Walmart today but they were not available in black...just blue and red.
